well dazam. that sucks. guess i will have to make some time and do it myself then. Do any of you know of anywhere on the net to get good info on how to do the swap properly? I know pretty much an intermediate amount of info on engines and stuff like that, but have not swapped any. However, if i can obtain some good info on it then i believe ill be fine. If any one knows then please reply:help

I'm glad to see that someone out there feels the same way about that as I do. It's always nice to see an eighty-something Ford Escort with a giant Phantasm Motorsport banner on the windshield. A constant reminder of why I'd never want my car to be seen parked in front of their shop.

I live in Holly Springs. Not many good places to do custom work around the Raleigh area. Try Eurospeed in Cary, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Hey, North Raleigh here. Yah Phantasm is pathetic, last time I was at T&T Salvage on Rt.1 there was a rusty Taurus with a Phantasm sticker....yeah that's great advertising. Now I'm starting to hear rumors that Phantasm is just a drug front.

But anyway, you might want to call AutoSense Performance Auto Tuning, they're off Capital Blvd in Raleigh right across from Adventure Landing. They've done a lot of good work for me, and they do engine swaps as well as any maintenence or repair. Their number is (919) 876-5696, ask for Terry or Julio and tell them Chris Scott referred you.

BTW, anybody from NC or SC might want to check out http://www.carolinanissans.com it's a pretty good forum and meets get put together on a regular basis. It just moved to a new server, so it looks like it just got put up (everybody's post count got reset), but it's been going for nearly a year now.

Thanks for the advice guys. Yea Phantasm, what can i say they just really suck. I have also heard my fair share of rumors about Phantasm myself, but not to the extreme of what your are alleging, although i would not put it past them. (they are sorta ghettoish). I just here that they are really shady and like to rip people off, although it might be hearsay, i do not find that to hard to fathum either. Oh yea, by the way does that place on Capitol do Sr20 swaps or have experiance in the engine? That would be cool if they did, because i am desperatly looking for a good tuning shop in the Raliegh area. I know if I had a crappy A@@ civic or something then I would not have a problem, but as far as Nissans and Sr performance, we are quite limited to where we can get help.

I think they've done some 240SX SR swaps, I'm not sure though. Might want to call and ask. And actually one of the mechanics there has a sweet civic with the Integra GS-R motor, no ricey crap just fire engine red paint and black rims. It looks great. He had a direct-injection NOS setup for awhile but last I heard he had taken that out.I think they had an S14 they were doing a swap on awhile back, don't remember details.

I called Phantasm one time looking for a wastegate actuator. They told me that I'd have to get an external wastegate b/c you can't buy the actuator. What a load of ****.

I appreciate your guys advice. I called Autosense earlier today and talked to Julio. He told me all about the swap and everything and was actually really nice and informative. He just told me to make sure that when I get my engine to make sure it had the basic stuff to make it run ie. smic, downpipe, uncutt harness and that sort of thing. So really now that I have found a source for my swap all i need to do really is save up some more money. Awesome. Although I would like to do it myself, I really don't have the time or patience, or work area really. Oh by the way, any of you guys know of any good places to source an engine around here. I looked at a place out of Georgia, i think they are called jarnic or something, i'm sure that i am wrong about that name, but i know it started with a j.

Mind if I ask how much they want to do the swap? I go to STATE now. I'm not planning on doing a swap anytime soon, but then again if my timing chain goes, then I will have an excuse. :D I've met the guy that has carolinanissans.com. Not a bad site for local traffic.

When i talked to them today, they said it would be any where from 1200-1400. Not bad, considering that they could probabley charge more.

Looks a bit sketchy though. I drove to VA to get my 240. Don't even think of buying one from Duraham. I looked at a few and they were beat to hell.

Don't buy a car from Lockamy Auto Sale in Durham. Below is my experience from them I posted on another forum:Quote »Well, I just got back from looking at it and I have good and bad news.Good = I fit in the car reasonably well and it seemed to have decent acceleration.Bad = I should have known better than to go look at a car on the east side of Durham. This car was a total POS! The paint job looked like it was mauled by a cougar. The windshield had 2 large rock chips in it. The suspension was non-existent. The car was hopping all over the place. To top it all off, the odometer didn't even work! WTF! It said ~70,000 miles but it had to have well over 100K. The guy asked, "So what did you think?" I said, "That car is a piece of ****..." "Would you be interested in a Mustang instead?""There's no way I'm buying a car from here. You need to get that car off your lot."[/quote]
