I don't think it will work unless you are logged into facebook.
On another note one of the staff members of the Watkins Glen International Tour de Marque, and I have good reason to believe it was the chairman John Merrill himself, tried to throw us out of this event. I am not sure why either. He basically ripped the attendee sticker off the windshield of my truck, instructed me to do a dangerous exit against traffic coming off the track and said "You guys are not allowed in this event, you need to leave". I had to prove to him I paid for the event and was supposed to be there. I even let the office know this morning that I would be attending in my Frontier because they wouldn't refund the ticket money. He huffed and put the sticker back on. He then got up and stood on the back of my truck as a soapbox while having a quick driver's meeting before doing laps on the original circuit. What a rude sack!! I even emailed him to inform him how insulted I was. If that's how they treat paying customers imagine if I really was running without permission. Either way the guy didn't apologize for his treatment of me and so here I am dragging his name through the mud. This also leads me to my next gripe.
If you want a Z/Roadster/510 event to be exclusive then say "Z/510/Roadster Only!" on the flyer. I think those kinds of events are gay and ignorant to all things Nissan but hey...there's dipshits who need company of their own kind everywhere.
The event became a joke to us after they tried and failed to kick us out. We had our fun on the track, got lots of thumbs-up and waves and tore the track up but honestly I am insulted and humiliated enough to say I am never going back to an event thrown by these guys ever again. Unprofessional at best. I sent John an email at
[email protected] to express my feelings about this. I don't mean to b**** but Nissan is more than just Z/510 and Roadsters to me but perhaps I am doing this all wrong. I think I am done showing my truck at car shows, well after hitting the deer I am really done for a while but still. Of all the 'Nissan' shows I have attended in the last 3 years this one was by far the worst, and ironically the most expensive. Running on WGI was a blast but that's not because of John Merrill, that's because of WGI. Would he have treated me the same if I was driving a Z? I doubt it, he would have likely approached me like a normal human being and asked to see my registration papers. This guy just ripped my attendance sticker off and told me to get out before I schooled him that I was a paying customer.
Lastly, we are going to rebuild the green truck. I am going to replace the cab and build it up from there. This includes upgrading the drivetrain with things like a good clutch, one-piece driveshaft, 240 intake as well as stainless braided cluch hose. I am going to go with a used cab and transfer all the good parts from my current one. I am also going to go to 4wd fenders, 4wd lips, a better OEM hood and new doors. This may take a while because I will be doing all the work myself but I swear the green truck will drive again!!!!!
