NOFX has some good songs, although I agree with wingzero for the most part. But you wanna listen to a no talent band? Listen to Rancid. I think they have maybe one song I like.

240kid has sent me some NOFX and I can't really say I like it... it's too simple head-banging new age punk for me, if that makes any sense. The music... ugh... see I feel that the music should be as lyrical as the lyrics, if that makes any sense. The emotions of the song should shine through the music.. the constant DUHdundundundundundun DUH! stuff gets to me quick...

Yeah but just remember the rest of the world has enough taste to not listen to that wailing crap. I don't know which is worse, emo or this new uneducated punk wanna-be crap.

Frankly, I don't listen to the radio any more as a result unless they are playing Ozzy, Pink Floyd, or a number of other groups that have something these new groups never had... called talent.

there's still talent out there...

Rancid ain't too bad, but I like Lars Frederiksen better with The Bastards...

Perhaps try some Bouncing Souls, Anchors Aweigh is a kickass album.

Not all new music sucks. In fact, if you look around a bit, a lot of it is quite good. You have to listen to it more than once to realize that there's more to it than you originally hear. I'm always discovering new parts of songs I've loved for a long time. Some bands you have to wade through half of their cd to find the good stuff, but it is there.

There's is also some strange beauty to playing something simple but doing it well, if that makes any sense. Some new bands can take the simplest parts and twist them into an intricate melody and an altogether original, and moreover, good, sound.

whoa where have i been? o yeah going to teh xgames (dude that 70 ft jump by david way was insane) and visiting epitaph records, which was really awsome. Ok first off , THEY ARENT NEW. theyve been around when most of the guys on this forum were still crappin in their diapers. I find it hard to believe that a no talent band can last for almost 2 decades. Which means they must be somewhat good. Yeah when they first started playing they were still finding themselves. I quote Howard Stern when he said on air "This song's not rockin'. Who is that? nofx?, notalent should be the name of that band" LOL. What i like about NOFX is that its all about having a good ****ing time, and life isnt fair and you should be glad it isn't. And they usually side with what makes sense, which can't be said of all bands. As far as that uneducated comment, Fat Mike is a college graduate from San Francisco State University, so i think he knows a thing or 2 about what hes doing. And if you still think NOFX is garbage, then you just have bad taste so :pface

Graduation does not make someone intelligent... it just means they are good at regurgitating info some guy wrote in a book. It's evident in their weak political stance that they are good at regurgitating info.

Wow I'm not surprised some Bush-hating punk "artist" is from San Francisco :rolleyes

Maybe I should jump on the "I hate Bush cause everyone else said it was cool" bandwagon.

Frankly:

I don't like the band, I think they have no talent or musical ability what so ever.

I don't like the band members, their political views are biased, mainstream bandwagon crap they've cooked up.

or ZZ Top right Alan?

viva la Texas!

they actually do a kick *** show, best sound I think I've ever heard from a concert. Ted Nugent was with them, so that helped.

When you look at the bands that have really made it (rolling stones, beetles, led zepplin), they all have one thing in common: The ability to write lots and lots of songs, each with their own unique sound and subject matter. Most of the stuff on the radio all sounds the same. We live in a era of mass produced disposable media icons, a stark difference from passed decades where it didnt matter what you looked like, just how good you were.

Dude, those bands I listed I've seen in concert (well... Roger Waters, not the Gilmore - Waters Pink Floyd). They are as good if not better in concert in terms of musical quality and talent.

This punk crap has nothing on the Eagles, Ted Nugent, CCR, Jimi Hendrix, Dire Straights, Pink Floyd, and a number of other bands.

Do you honestly think we will here nofx on the classic's radio station 20 years from now? ... you're a fool if you think so.

I've been to these "Punk" concerts and all it is is a bunch of wailing retards behind a mic, some guy chainsawing a guitar, drummer machinegunning some sort of beat, and quite frankly they all have the same sound.

I'm glad I don't listen to radio.

I listen to what I want to listen to, not what they want me to listen to.

The White Strips do ****ing blow however.
