No spark found a weird thing need help

I need help. I'm trying to get my 240 to start. It's a 91 hatch. It turns over and gets fuel just fine but no spark. I just got the car and the previous owner had a weird relay ran to the ignition coil and some weird diode thing. Im not sure if it is factory or not. This is my first 240 by the way. And yes i have searched and searched but i could
