Bah, this whole fast food non-sense makes me sick. Come on, can you honestly tell me that people are so stupid that they do not realize that eating greasy as hell fast food will make them fat? What's with taking away the super sized fries? One of the best benefits of going to the gym and needing 3000+ calories a day is being able to eat all the crap you want. Now I have to buy two medium sized fries, and pay twice as much.

Stupid, victim, isn't never my fault and someone needs to protect me from myself American mentality. Whaaa, my kids are fat and have diabeties because I feed them crap food and am not a good parent in the first place.

Kudo's to McDonald's for jumping ahead of the curve this time. I guess after that whole coffee incident, they got over getting sued by their customers.

This is dumb. If you don't want supersize dont freaking order a upersized combo. It isn't that hard tp say no when they ask. I am glad I hate McDonalds, but this will leak over to every other company as well. They limit our options first. Then they take away our freedom...ok maybe not that far but this is a start.

They paid nowhere near what the original sum was for that coffeee incedent. was more like 600,000 instead of the millions you always hear.

Personally, I hate that people try so hard to make so much money just because the person or company they sue have deep pockets. All those costs only translate to higher prices for goods and services and perhaps higher insurance premiums. I don't see anything wrong with getting a reasonable settlement for legitimate damges caused by a legitimate tort. What I hate more is that juries allow this to happen.

bah, Jack in the Box pwns McDonald's

that's how a real American burger joint should be, making enormous stuff, then laughing about it. More power to them, perhaps this time with no jack sauce incidents or whatever the hell it was...

god I love my youth.

Ah, but the coffee case was used to punish McDonalds. The jury awarded the massive damages in an attemt to tech Mcdonalds a lesson. McDonalds had been sude 700 other times for hot coffee related incedents. The fact was they made their coffe stupidly hot. 170 degree hot. Normal coffe like at home is around 125 degrees. Don't quote me on the 700 part but I know it was way too many times, and McDoanalds was just like oh well the customers like it hot. So the jury ***** slapped them, but they got out of it.

Well even then, the civil law system isn't really designed to punish nor should it be the intent. If it was that much of a problem, the appropriate government agency should be the one to get involved and worst case scenario, slap a fine on them. To some extent the government is as much at fault for this kind of thing as well. It's somewhat a double edged sword though. While lawsuits can keep people and companies on their toes to care about what they do, even if from a financial standpoint, the side effect is that people start seeing opportunities to try and make money where they really shouldn't.

There are now limitaions on how much punitive damages can be awarded. So at least they are trying to make things right.

McDonalds salads actually taste pretty good. Me and wife tear those things up WITH supersize fries. LOL I think it sucks that peopel these days can sue and win against a place that sells food. And what is worse is that McDonalds was singles out. Why hasnt Jack in the crack been sued for those greasy *** tacos they sell. Like was laready stated, who's fault is it if you stuff your fat *** face with fattening food and you get obese. Yours and yours only. I love my fires just like th enext guy but I eat them in moderation. I mayhave fast food once a week. That really sucks man.

What the hell, it should be peoples responsability to watch what they eat, not make Mc Donalds regulate it by removing an option on the amount of food you get in an order.

Who goes to Mcdonalds anyway, i drive twice as far to eat at a Carls Junior and haven't been to MCDs in years.

Fat people will just order two large fries and end up with 25% more total fries, fatties wont be outsmarted by this one.

If Mcdonalds gets rid of supersizing, i'll never eat there again. And that's a promise. Who the hell wants to buy 2 medium fries?
