no differential required?

Nissan dominates the drift scene - Always has, always will.

damnit, i had a feeling it would turn out like that, i always that if the power was given equally to both tires, it would start a slide, and if your trying to grip, thats not good

but o well guess not, next step LSD!!

Sounds like you're planning on cheaping out on a locked diff so you can spend your money on a sweet body kit.

haha

i was jus trying a cheap alternative 2 a cusco 2way diff thats gonna cost me 5-600

the thing i hate the most bout open diff is the whiplash from exiting turns, do u notice that 2?? or is it me just sucking really bad at exits?

Here's what I have:http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=103145

I love it! All together it cost me under $150, that includes a spare open diff from a junkyard, and shipping costs both ways.

LOL at expecting drifting to be comfortable. It's gonna jerk you around a lot regardless. This is why people invest in good seats.

yea i have a nice pair of sparcos, cost me a decent penny, but got em good deal, they hug me, but i think its jus me not being good at drifting. i can take turns good, slide decent, but swing hard at the end when i countersteer, i think its my sudden jerk in steering and throttle, i dont know, im in no way a "Drifto Hachiroku: guy, but i think i can do good sometimes, jus gotta practice

Does having a open diff make whiplash's more ruthless? or am i jus tryin 2 blame sometin else 4 nt bein good?

Well, when I drift as i exit the drift I let the steering wheel straighten out so I don't have much whiplash. Of course I don't know what its like to drive a car w/ an lsd either so...

ya usually, i enter good, lil fast cuz no LSD, let the car oversteer a lil bit, countersteer and let go of wheel and lessen the throttle now that i have more practice, but usually i would swing crazily side 2 side, and lst control even once or twice

but ya, i think im gettin a lil better, im using more clutch kicks to get it sliding and tying 2 keep it balanced

is it a lot more easier with a LSD?

Its supposed to be easier w/ an lsd I gues. Clutch kicks don't work for me, probly because Im at the top of 2nd when I reach the turns, I just do a feint w/ handbreak and floor it and it works pretty well. I got it to the point that I can connect one big sweeper to the next small sweeper w/ a manji or whatever its called. I can't wait till I get an lsd.

a real LSD makes drifting 10x easier.

same with coilovers

and good wheels/tires.

i have falken ziex and a decent suspension, so i think my car can do it, but im the one who cant make the car do it. ERGHH!

i take turns a lil fast and create oversteerand jus kinda slide through it, i have 2 go 2 a track and try real drifting there with e-brake, clutch kicking before a turn and going into it screeching is what i call i drifting...DAMNIT i need a lsd

Wouldn't a welded diff=no diff?

if you drive an s13 s14 s15 240sx silvia 180sx, or whatever name it may go by, then it has a diff.

diff=differential=lsd=limited slip differential

Some people get super technical with things. These people would call a welded diff a spool (i think thats what they call it). I thnk thats what the poster above is getting at. My diff is welded and i still call it a diff cuz i like saying "welded diff". But either way, theres a big thingy back there making ur wheels spin. So every1 is right in their own special way.

well it has a differential, im not bein that dumb in asking if my axles run on anything

but a diff and a lsd are diff.

a open diff is what i have, which sucks ***a welded or limited slip diff is what i need 2 drift better thats all

you think it would be a good idea 2 junkyard a differential of a SE 240sx???

Look at the VIN plate mounted on the firewall.
