no check engine!!!!!!!!!!

so iv been driving my car for a while now (2000 miles) since the sr swap. which was done by a shady mofo in my area but it runs. i dont know why it took me so long to figure out that when i turn my key no check engine light comes on so i took out the cluster replaced it with a new bulb.....still nothing....so then i got a buddys computer hooked it up and it wouldnt read... said there was no connection. now the ? i have is having a jim wolfe ecu and jgy wiring affect that in anyway. or do u think that fu.ck cut some wires. can anyone help out here. like how many wires is there and what pins on the ecu

I have a similar problem except that i have a s13 sr and wire for the cel on the harness is non-existent.

90% of people dont hook up the CEL when wiring an SR, though Im not sure why, its not that hard.

As for the hooking the computer up, you wont be able to. The SR is pre OBD II, and it will not communicate with the computer. That, and no one ever hooks up the consult port, because for a normal person, there is no need. You can wire the consult port, and use a cable to connect to a regular computer, this will allow you to watch any of the engine sensors in real time, though the refresh rate is rather slow.

If you want to see if you have any codes, run the diagnostics test using the LED on the ECU itself.

ok thanks. i called frsport and they told me the same thing about the led on the ecu. whats the process for that just turn the key on but not the engine and it should start blinking if i have mal codes?

It wont just start blinking, you will have to turn a screw on the ECU which will put it into diagnostic mode.
