Next update in November.

For the 2007, we reached the 200 owner mark months ago, and that year has been stuck there. 200 is great--but why are as many people selling now as buying?

For the 2008, we have far fewer owners signed up, and need more. And the 2009...well, it's new. So of course we need more of those owners involved.

Thanks. Done?

More participants are needed, especially for the new 2009. But for the other years as well. We're going to start performing more detailed analyses soon for models with large sample sizes, and the Versa could qualify.

I will do this once I get home today. Right now, my car is about 20 floors below me.

Hi - I just signed up my'09 Versa SL, white, with sport, moonroof and convenience packages along with ABS. Glad to help out and I'm looking forward to following the data on the '08 to see what kind of problems arise as the '08 supposedly didn't change much for '09. My only disappointment so far is in MPGs as I am getting much less than I thought I would - but, I'm getting better than my Santa Fe got.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

We continue to need more 2009s. And the 2007 has been stuck at 200 cars forever. An excellent number, but why are people selling them as quickly as other owners are joining?

Thanks, guys.

So far it looks like we'll only have a partial result for the 2009 in the May update. I might send some extra reminders to owners of the 2009 to try to get a full result for the car--enough owners are signed up that this should be easily doable.

Not signed up yet? The more participants we have, the better the information we can provide to everyone.

We have updated results for the Versa to include owner experiences through March 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009: 86, worse than average, marginal sample size

2008: 75: about average, close to "worse than average"

2007: 50: about average

Repair rates have improved for both the 2007 and 2008 over time. The same will likely be true of the 2009.

A big thanks to AZhitman, this forum, and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in August and November. With more participants, we could provide more precise information. Especially need more 2009s.

Just updated my TrueDelta garage to include my new Versa. I just picked it up Sunday. Nothing to report other than the fact my long a** commute is depressing me with how fast the miles have racked up. 130 in 2 days.

I won't know fuel mileage until Friday or Sat, when I fill up.

We have updated results for the Versa to include owner experiences through June 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009: 43

2008: 62

2007: 62

All three are now average.

A big thanks to AZhitman, this forum, and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February. With more participants, we could provide more precise information. Especially need more 2009s.

Updated results again later this month.

We're going to start providing new stats for the odds of requiring no repairs and the odds of getting a lemon. These require larger sample sizes, so additional participants would be helpful.

We have updated results for the Versa to include owner experiences through September 30, 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009: 42

2008: 43

2007: 58

All three are now average.

We've also introduced two new statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

The percentage with no repairs is about 67 for the 2007 and 72 for the 2008, while the percentage of lemons is about 6 for the 2007 and 2 for the 2008.

422 Versa owners now signed up. A great start. The more owners participate, the better the information we can provide to everyone.

Especially need more 2010s.

We have updated results for the Versa to include owner experiences through December 31, 2009. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009: 40

2008: 33

2007: 48

The 2008 is better than average, the other two are "about average" but close to "better than average."

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

The percentage with no repairs is about 69 for the 2007 and 79 for the 2008, while the percentage of lemons is about 2 for the 2007 and less than one for the 2008.

A big thank you, once again, to AZhitman, this forum, and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May and August. With more participants, we could provide more precise information. Especially need more 2009s.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Just enhanced the related repair history survey so that it can (optionally) be used as a personal car maintenance record.

As always, more participants would be helpful. Updated Car Reliability Survey results in May, with a preview for participants next month.

I have a 2007 Versa, and I understand that there was a recall for the ignition because of faulty starts at times. It still happens on occasion. What I do is let a half-minute pass before trying to restart the car. That is the only flaw the car has had so far. By the way, my Versa has 124,000 miles on it.
