I have came up with the idea of the R39 Nissan LMR, quite awhile ago. I have tried to get a job a Nissan but to no avail.
I will post a design of it in a future post. Basically it an updated version of the R390 still with a twin turbo V8 but with more power. It will hopefully look like a street legal curvacious LM road car. As far as supension, transmission, price, i need help with.
Ideas are welcome to this post, and as i have only a basic paint program on my computer, once i post a design feel free to post a high definition pic of my design. 3d would be great as well, if nissan makes my car i will notify them of all who helped me.
thanks for reading.

Nathan

*PS: Anyone know an easy to use design program for a Gateway GT5670?

Just playing around....Welcome to NICO.

You have to understand a bit of skepticism after a post like that. Maybe a little more info about yourself and design would make it seem more realistic. Age? qualifications? Previous vehicle design work?

Please don't take this as rude, but with what info has been given, it sounds like you came up with a picture in MS paint, took it to Nissan, and they denied you.

Either way, I am nobody to judge your dreams. If you love Nissans, you have come to the correct place. So again, Welcome. :bigthumb:

i am 30 years old, unfortunately i have no schooling in the design field. I have made designs using the basic MS paint programs, but i have stoped since its not effective. Actually i sent a hand drawn design in ink in my first try, but was turned down because i didnt work at NIssan, and that was the whole purpose of the design i gave them.

Its fun to make drawings of concepts. To have Nissan take a look and actually come up with development idea from a random guy with no background is pretty much impossible. Sorry to be truthful but care to share some of your pics for fun?

But, mmmmmmmmmm Nissan R390 is one of my favs

I would so buy one if I ever won the lotto. Are they even US street legal?

McLaren beat you to the punch. :)

The MP4-12C's M838T twin-turbocharged 3.8 liter V8 is based on the VRH35z used in the R390 and other Nissan Le Mans cars from the 80s and 90s (and adapted to street use as the VH in the Q45 and other models).

i wouldn't say that i have no chance, as long as i impress somebody who works for Nissan and is not a "nobody" like me, i have a chance, and ministerofdoom the lmr will be better than that Mclaren an hopefully less expensive. and i have to buy a design program for my outdated comp, so pics of my design will be awhile.

But let me see your MS Paint design exercises before I make a final judgement call.

Without a proper program I can only do exterior designs, trust me I am very rusty at ms paint, even at my best I don't think I can impress most of you guys. But per your request I shall try a hand drawn pic.

In order to impress someone at Nissan, you'd need one of three things:
A degree and a lot of experience designing cars
A whole bunch of money and some status in the auto world
Give someone who has either of those two your design and let them either steal it or take most of the credit for it.

SO yeah, best not to get your hopes up, really. You had a better shot at winning the lottery a few weeks ago.

you know what one of my designs was stolen. but it was just a dragon style body kit, i dont care if someone else designs the car as long as i get the credit for the idea, and a free Nissan LMR once the car gets finished. And as far as working for Nissan yes that would take a mircale.

Hey, everyone has to start somewhere.

I could correct some of the misconceptions from people in this thread (...dave...) but they'd be boring actual stories and no one wants to hear them. :)

Nothing wrong with drawing cars in your spare time - Hell, I did it all through grade school... and high school... and... :(

I'll put your drawings on the fridge Greg. The wobbly ashtray, though, I got give you a big fat no on that.

minister of doom, did you do that pic using ms paint from scratch? even if you didnt, i dont think i could beat that, even in my best ms paint drawings years ago. If you want you can do the exterior design of the NIssan LMR, i'll tell you what i am looking for and you do the rest. Anyone who is good at designing engines and suspension, etc. Let me know if you want to help me out. i give u due credit when the time comes.

Well, no degree in anything automotive-related and you're already calling out a company who has a successful F1 team and built one of the most iconic and innovative supercars the planet has ever seen, the McLaren F1. Ballsy. But, best of luck to you. I'll buy you a beer if you ever manage to do it.

So you want to send a drawing to Nissan to get it approved and made, yet you have no drawing?

The closest thing Nissan has done to this is when they had the "design the paint job for a juke" competition.

A lofty target. Ferraris cry themselves to sleep at night thinking about the MP4-12C.

That Skyline isn't from scratch. I just used some strategic paint-work to...restructure it a bit.

It might take most of your winnings as Nissan only built 8 of them. Welcome, OP. So you're envisioning Nissan to essentially design and build their version of the Ford GT as a replacement to the GT-R? I love the idea but I'm not confident Nissan would invest the millions to develop a limited production midengined "supercar".

What about a standard production luxury supercar: infinity lmr, it would sell more and I could always customize mine with Nissan logos

Like the Lexus LFA? I dunno. It's possible, but both Nissan and Infiniti are marques that cater to the masses, so I'm not sure a mid six figure priced supercar fits either's customer demographics.
