Sure.. we'll be around for this type of car..

Back in the 80's if you had explained to me what an Iphone was and what you could do with it (GPS, WIFI, digital camera, etc..).. I would never have believed you. That was only 30 years ago.

understandable but thats a little gadget. This car is like something out of a movie. I just see us hitting other stages of cars before this one. For example the Mobility Concept. After that type comes out by Nissan or another company, All manufactures will be modeling their cars after it. Im just thinking we need to hit the "Smart,Compact,Safe" stage before we can start making "Super" Emissions free electric cars. It just seems like their rushing it before even getting one design going at a plant. I hope all this made sense. lol

^ Ye of little faith.

That "little gadget" is 1000-times more advanced than where we were in 1980, considering ALL of its components are new:

In 1980, cell phones / digital cameras / computers / LCD screens / Li batteries didn't even EXIST.

No, the concept above is closer to reality than you think. You should see some of the contenders for the Automotive X-Prize.

Not true, I watched Save By the bell. Zach had a cell phone :chuckle: \

Anyways..Its not that I dont have faith. It just seems like all car companies are trying to produce these new ""cars when their designing the next car before the previous concept hasnt been cleared. I know what a concept is but...I cant really explain it. Im just saying that they should produce their fist "" car before designing the next.

"Saved by the Bell" debuted in 1989, not 1980. Just sayin'.

Tech doesn't take nearly as much time as it takes money. What takes time is getting the costs down to the point where economies of scale let you drive market adoption. Thus "early adopter" premiums. Think how much a CD player cost in 1985. Or a DVD player in 1999. Or a plasma HDTV in 2001.

And the point of a concept is not to go straight to market -- it's one part art, two parts engineering, and 10 parts marketing. The point is not to produce a concept vehicle, it's to use elements of the concept in a bunch of production vehicles. You don't think every woman wants to dress like Lady GaGa, do you? No. She is the concept and they take bits of it they like and pull the design element into their own wardrobe.
