Round 1, FIGHT!!!!!!

Image

FINISH HIM!!!!

Image

FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!!!!

Image

So there I am, driving home minding my own business. Traffic backs up because the right lane is closed. Im in the left lane and I glance in my rear view just in time to see a green Saturn cruising up behind me. My heart skips a beat when I see her eyes are focused on her radio, not the road. I exhale, lift my foot off the brake, and BOOM. The rear bumper of my truck becomes an impromptu emergency brake.

Yes, that is her licence plate impaled on my trailer hitch.

She was a good sport about the whole thing. My truck seems no worse for the ware, though my neck is definitely stiff. Time to go see a doctor.

Pretty hard not to be when you're at fault for the accident.

Glad you're okay.

I hope your neck isn't serious. At least the truck is fine. :)

It could have been much worse. She didnt freak out, she wasn't balling or anything. She was calm and collected. There were a few tears, but generally she was very mature about it.

I was going to correct your spelling, but then I realized that the sentence is way too funny as-is.

Glad you aren't hurt, man.

That is almost EXACTLY the way my wife left the ol' Saturn SL for me to fix up a few years ago. Only the hood had the distinct impression from the solid drop-down bumper of a utility truck, which caused MUCH more frame damage.

Glad you're okay. Is the next car up in line the one that she pushed you into?

This story is 10x cooler with pictures. I don't remember you mentioning the license plate impalement.

I love the Mortal Kombat tribute. Saturn sniffs hardbody's butthole, gets popped in the mouth.

No other vehicles involved. I had enough gap in front of me to not hit anything.

This just happened today. That makes twice in as many weeks that Ive been rear ended. The first was just a bump. This one hurt.

The face of the Saturn is kind of reminiscent of money shot aftermath photos...

It actually looks a little satisfied.

Just got back from the ER. They put me in a neck brace, took 3 Xrays, and a CT scan, then they dosed me with Flexeril and Vicodin. Now I am high as a kite while ignoring the lingering stiffness in my neck and upper back.

Yay for muscle relaxants and narcotics. Work tomorrow is going to be exciting.

Sucks man. I've dealt with neck issues since being rear-ended in high school. Stretching becomes very important.

Yeah, I hope you feel better soon, Ian. Did the tests show anything specific, or just riprash?

The Xrays apparently made it look like 2 of my vertebrae were a little off kilter, but the CT did not show anything seriously out of the ordinary. They thing the Xray was just a fluke.

I decided to go to work today (didnt really have a choice) and it was not a fun day. The doctor also gave me prescription strength motron but it barely takes the edge off. I am pretty sore from the middle of my back all the way to my skull. It seems this little incident has exacerbated my already cranky back. I guess thats just the way it goes. Im home now, and the Flexeril is doing a good job of loosening me up. I imagine I will be napping shortly, whether I want to or not.

I have pictures from the ER in my phone, but I am way to lazy to go find the cord for it.
