I have. Carbureted!

I think it was done by NA sport or something... But TBH it was probably a combination of DOHC and SOHC parts.

It was the kind of thing where it used a ton of fuel all at once and spat fire everywhere.

I actually think it was under 1000, but not by much. I haven't seen too many 1K SRs or DOHC KAs, either. SO dude?

I wouldn't try. I personally think 600 on a 4 banger is my limit. I have been in 500hp ones, and they seemed hard to control and finicky.

I wouldn't mind a 1KHP inline 6 or V8, tho.

Its funny how I don't really care about HP numbers I like motors that rev high as hell. Like the Spoon B16 that revs to 11k. But Tsuchiya had it just cruising round the track at 9000-9500 through straights. which impresses me more than a 400hp car doing the same.

I was wondering about this ^

Dattebayo, I read that same post a few weeks ago when I was trolling random forums, and I was like WTF!?!?! I know my truck motor has never broken down; I don't know what the f*** that guy is talking about. What a f***ing loser. Does the KA-E really have M8 head bolts? And the piston oil cooling thing isn't the most significant thing in the world, definitey not the deal breaker he makes it sound like.

I like to blip the throttle and feel the chassis roll a little.

Well, when I get my D21, I plan on swapping over to another motor eventually, I just don't know what yet. Probably an RB20 or 25.

mmmm torque.

And seang, that is something I read about for z24 motors and most z24 things seem to be ka24e things in some respect so I figure that you should retorque all heads periodically if you wan the HG to last.

SOHC Turbo is "cheap" and easy. The hard part i guess getting a nice manifold and not paying over $300 for it.

will the manifold off of a sohc 240 fit in the hardbody or will the ecu be confused?

the manifold is just a piece of metal. there's nothing electrical involved to confuse the ecu. just visit the ka-t subforum (you can find it to the right of your screen) and do lots of reading.

The heads are the same, the valve covers aren't and there are differences in the bottom end.

But you already having a ka24 and it just need turboing. Google nis720this is his truck, a 720 with a KA swap then turbo'd.http://www.youtube.com/user/ni...TXYMw

You can make 300hp turbo'd with the truck manifold, it is a torquer for sure.

The thing that would be an issue (I think) swapping to a 240 manifold would be the MAF. I don't know if the stock ECU will read the 240 MAF sensor. I know this swap has been done, but that's about all I know other than people also swap ECU's to either a ka24e 240sx or a ka24e (U12) Stanza model.

I would use a 240 KA, personally, and swap over the intake manifold and stuff. That would be the best way to get a funner truck.
