I cannot get an inspection because my obd reader inside my truck doesn't work. I've checked all the fuses and there good. What other things could I do to get it to work?

Wow, the only time I've heard of OBD readers not working is when the ECU is fried, the wires have been chewed on by rodents, or the connector itself is super corroded.
Have you ever had rodents in the vehicle? Can you look at the OBD connector and see if its corroded?
You can also try bringing it to Autozone and seeing if their reader can pick it up.

I actually pulled it out so I could see all the wires and there actually is one that is not connected. It's a a black one with a white line on it.. I tok a picture but I don't believe I can post it on here. If I could I would show you so you could possibly determine if that was the problem. Thanks for your help
