I was looking around to try and source a Nismo t-stat for the RB25. I have read that it is identical to the one for the 300zx but I was wondering if someone who actually bought one could post up the part number so that I can verify the part numbers are the same.

I believe it is 21200-RS580 but I'm not sure. If this is correct, I've found it online for only $55.41.

Thanks

Phase2motortrend.com has one specifically for the R33 RB25. http://www.store.yahoo.com/pha....html

Did you check the replacement number thread that is stickied at the top of the RB forum?zerothread?id=34102

I know the part numbers for OEM parts are in there.. I am not sure however about the NISMO varients.

Just for a frame of referance... I have an RB20 and got the Z32 NA thermo for like $12.00.. Works fine.. I don't see what great advantage the Nismo one would be?

Hope I helped a bit.

The fuel pressure regulator on the 300ZX is NOT the same as the RB.

300ZX-V6-2 fuel rails, one regulator remote mounted(not on the rail)Skyline-I6-1 fuel rail, one regulator mounted ON the fuel rail.

Ummm, thanks Jon but I was actually asking only about the Nismo thermostat. I DID CHECK the stickied post about replacement part numbers but it looks like the t-stat numbers listed are by people with RB20's. If they are the same then I apologize for questioning your wisdom. Also, yes, I of course looked at the phase2motortrend site but I really get the impression that it's way overpriced because I'm pretty sure that the t-stat is NOT specific to that engine alone.

The advantage of using the Nismo t-stat is that it opens almost 10 degrees celsius earlier than the OEM one. My car will be roaming the streets of South Florida where it gets CRAZY hot so I think it's a good idea.

Thanks

Part#:21200-RS580

From the following website: http://borg.phpwebhosting.com/....html

Generally for the RB engine's thermostat, look for the 90-96 300zx TT application.....

There you go Kouki... Looks like you nailed it right on the head. That site's price is pretty close to Phase2, but if you can save yourself a bit, go for it. I would recommend phase2 because they keep stuff in stock, and ship fast. I bought a timing belt from them, and had it in 4 days.

Get the "Billion" thermostat from SPL Parts.http://www.splparts.com/

$117

I have it on my 94 300ZX TT.

From their website:

The Billion high-flow thermostat features a high flow valve (shown below, stock valve on left, Billion high-flow on right), and lower temperature (65degC) operation.

Note: we recommend this over the Nismo thermostat because of the high flow valve.
