I think these ricers are getting a little bit out of hand here, can you imagine this kid coming to an automotive gathering and being like "yeah, this is my 96 accord with VTEC, Intake, Exhaust, Wheels and a NISMO Body kit." that kid would get laughed off the block, why can't these companies just make up names that dont put slow cars under the same heading as our cars for performance and show parts

last time i checked 240s only start off with les than 160 horsepower. that is pretty slow in my book. An accord with minor mods would blow ur doors off. 240's are in about the same league with the 4 cylinder accord but if it has a stock 6 it would own ur car with minors mods

deez, while a v6 stands a chance, i have yet to come across an I4 accord that could keep up, my friends EX w/ VTEC and manual trans was so far behind me that I was wondering if he blew his motor, my other buddy's LX(intake, exhaust, ignition, headers) was the same way, I'm only an SE 240 with VLSD and over 170k on my engine, so i dont mean to offend you, but so far, 4cyl accords are still slow in my book

even the 6-cyl accords are slow..... I havent lost to an accord yet, including one that had the typical I/H/E on a v-6...after I hit second, I was wondering if he stopped trying, but I could hear him...

I havent raced hte "new 240hp" accord or whatever...but if its anything like the acura TL, I'd still smoke it.-chet

1) if u have an sr it is a different story2) I find it very hard to believe that u beat a v6 with minor mods, you only have 160 hp if ur luck man and that v6 has about a hundred more than you.3)I dont care who u beat because u cant back it up. I could say i beat a ferrari and it wouldnt matter unless i can prove it.

I dunno man, even rice mags complain about how slow stocker accords are. 160 horse ain't too bad for such a lite little sports car...

deez, there is a simple formula to determine how fast a car is. It is power to weight ratio. Those accords are slow, slow, and slow, as well as heavy when compared to a 240sx. V6 included (its even heavier). Then add honduh's BS HP ratings, and I can guarantee you a 240sx with high mileage will take out an accord, even with mods. On the highway, it may be different, but on the streets, a stock 240 will own an accord unless its spraying. I've taken out the mighty 200 HP 2001 prelude SE fairly easily, and its 6 years newer than my ride, has 150 000km less than my ride, and the lude owner was beggining me to race all night. I find it hard to believe an even heavier accord, with equal HP "rating" can take out a stock 240, unless it was in very poor condition.

Anyone know where i can get a "Powered by Honda" banner sticker for my windshield???

:P

deez, I dont know if you're an acord owner or what, but they weight a ton, like over 1000lbs more than a 240. see pimpin comments for the story man....

maybe you should just buy an accord since they're so fast.-chet

Deez,

You said it. Truck engine. In a little car with sub 3000lbs weight with driver. Torque baby. For a daily driver stock 240sx is a pretty peppy car.

As far as racing it can be done that it will be "OMG" fast on pretty small budget. I have yet to see Accord getting half respect 240sx gets as tuning platform.

P.S. One of popular swaps back in Russia is Volga (russian sedan) with 4Runner's V6 in it. It hauls ***.

it sounds to me like you are saying accords are fast. why are you bagging the 240 on the 240 board. and why the heck are we talking about accords??

1. Accord's weigh at most 300-400 lbs. more than the 240 AFAIK2. Accord's usually have automatic gearboxes geared for fuel economy, not acceleration. 3. Even if they are 5-Speed nearly all the Accords AFAIK have no LSD (traction limited)

30-40bhp through an auto gearbox is not gonna make up for poor gearing and several hundred pounds of weight.

The newest generation of Accord however are quite quick and would have no problem destroying a 240, but in the end it's still a heavy FWD car. It begins it's life faster but in the end... is ultimately a poor platform.

If Honda produced trucks they would put the F23 in it and more than likely the 3L V6 as well. The F23 is very much like the KA in terms of powerband.

The term "truck engine" was coined by some uneducate sore-*** who thought he would slag an engine that he thought was no good.

Don't be hatin' truck engines; in a sad moment I got beat by a new Ram Hemi... granted my launch wasn't the greatest but I would've had a tough time with a good launch. Torque is a wonderful thing.
