CALLING ALL KA GENIUSES.

I need to figure out my wiring. I have a DOHC chassis, with an SOHC engine and engine harness. I had planned to use the DOHC engine bay harness, and the SOHC engine harness, but my engine bay harness is damaged beyond repair (dont ask).

This brings me to my question. How hard would it be to run the SOHC bay harness from my coupe, with the body harness in the hatch? How different are the body harnesses for the SOHC/DOHC cars? Is there a write up, has it been done? I have seen lots of SOHC to DOHC swap stuff, but nothing for going the other way.

And if it cant be done, who is willing to sell me a DOHC engine bay harness cheap? Cmon, you know you want to be part of Nico's rally car.

I have 3 weeks to get my car ready for Omaha. I NEED NICO'S HELP

Here is the rally car build thread.

Cmon, someone has to know this. Is it at easy as just switching out the one plug that goes to the cluster? Could I be that lucky?

I wish I knew the answer to this Ian.
Hopefully someone chimes in.

Just to clarify, you're using a SOHC engine bay harness and body harness from a DOHC car?
If so, I believe you can do that.
When people swap from SOHC to DOHC, they keep their body harness, they only switch their SOHC engine bay harness for a DOHC one.
So I'm assuming you can do it vice versa.

The engine harness, and the engine bay harness are different things. The body harnesses in the S chassis cars are 2 piece. Half in the engine bay, and half the interior. Im using the engine harness from an SOHC, as well as the front portion of the body harness from the SOHC. While the rest of the body harness is from a DOHC.

I pulled the could harness today, and put it in the car today. Ive got a few things to work over and Im going to try and fire it up.

Hahaha, Im actually not worried about it starting. I can make anything run, now if it decides to set itself on fire, or make all of the lights not work, then I will be in trouble.

Did you just switch out the one plug? I just ran into this problem myself while working on a buddy's car. We started it last night and got the SOHC engine in but...Noticed today that the plugs are NOT the same.

Yep, just the plug for the cluster. Everything else matched up. Just make sure you get all your grounds connected, or it will haunt you.

The only other thing I had issues with, was the wipers working, but I think on mine it may have been a short, not a difference in wiring.

There are some already. Search rally 240sx jump. The better stuff will come next season.
