It would be insanely crazy to have those on your car (I think in a good way), but the PITA stress and worry u will go through from having this on your car as a daily driver and something that sits in a car port, not a locked secure garage and with someone who's already had 2 incidents with his car in the middle of the night, you're just asking for trouble. Don't do it dude, I know you want to, but it just ain't practical in your situation.

why do folks keep saying get a turbo... the thread was about getting the monitors in the bumper, not what can I do with a few thousand dollars... I'm not a speed junky, I like TV's... if I wanted a turbo, it would have been done by now!

Im not sure if you have been asked this or not but. What do you do with all your monitors. Is it for shows or just cuz it looks sick. Do you watch music videos, or dvds. Or what

You can never have enough monitors!

So doc, you could always do this after the bumper.

Well Rob since you have a monitor fetish and since I have a slight fetish just not as bad as yours I may be able to give you some other ideas that may be a bit safer, just give me a call because I saw some crazy stuff at SEMA which gave me a few ideas that you may like. I'm also working on a monitor project of my own right now in the trunk that I will be basically unveiling at HIN LA. Cheers on the original idea and I would have loved to see it, maybe you should just do it anyways. You could even make the bumper removable and just bring it out for shows and just keep the stock one on the rest of the time.

You've got my

Every monitor has a reason for being in there (even if its a dumb reason)

Yes, mainly for shows and car meets...

Three in the trunk, 1-11" in the truink lid with infiniti reference component speakers on the sides2x7" on the sides of the amp rack, just to give the trunk some added flavor during car shows

2x7" in the rear quarter panels... wanted something to entertain my daughter (Barney DVD's, cartoons, etc)..., headrest monitors are too cliché, wanted to do something different...

7" kenwood DDX-812... double din dvd player4.5" Innovatek ... got this due to the design flaw of the AVic D3 when I had it... although I got an upgraded headunit, I still kept it there

7" Engine cover ... got this because it was free... my shop wanted to do something crazy, so they did it for free, I ust had to buy the paint!

In terms of what I watch, I download music video off of limewire, and play the music videos in the car all the time. Sometimes I keeep the videos playing while I listen to something different (ipod, music on usb, etc) Its the same concept of what they do in nightclubs, if you've ever noticed) When my daughter is in the car (when I take her to day care) I play one of her kiddie DVD's

you understand because you've gone crazy with your car also! I wouldn't do a lot of the stuff you've done to your car, but I def applaud the creativity and I like the originality.

And yes, our rear bumpers are pretty easy to remove, so I may just do this and bring it out for showtime... Imagine how sick it would look at a Hot Import Nights show!!!

AHHH PHUCK IT... I'm gonna do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh snapppp! Looks like you've made up your mind.

I'd do what others have suggested and just do it on another bumper and bring it out for show time. The pimp my ride idea with the monitor on the mud flap is no go cuz you'd never get one that big on the A/C.

Remember to take tons of pictures like you always do!

in a way, I'd agree.... but this is a bit more original of an idea than lambo doors, and it doesn't depreciate the value of the car since its 100% reversible! oh, and this is much more of a waste of money as wel!!

Yeah woot and definitely go with what Shawn said and only bring it out for shows, I'm actually working on a project right now with my trunk and I'm throwing a PS3 or a Wii in there and they will only be in the trunk for shows because I just don't wanna risk them getting jacked. I'm already registered for HIN LA on the 14th and shiet if you could get this done it would be badass if you could come out...I'm actually representing SDGs and I may be ale to get you in the show if you haven't registered already. Give me a call or txt me if you wanna chat about it.

I understand the concern, especially from those who know my history of run ins with the criminal element...

I think a few of you have the entire concept of what I'm trying to do misunderstood... the way we are gonna do it, the monitors will not be visible during the day, at all... but again, I appreciate all the concern...

in the end... I'm still gonna do it...

and regarding originality Shawn, I've seen almost every episode of Pimp My Ride (I have the first few seaons on DVD).. and while they have done some pretty off the wall stuff in the past, they haven't done what I'm talking about doing!

Hmm.. ok since Doc has a massive set of brass ones and is moving fwd on this, I have some ideas.

What if there were cameras mounted along the perimeter of the car so the screens on the back had a panoramic view of the road ahead (or behind)?

Would they all be hooked up to the same video stream?

yeah, the would all be hooked up to the same video stream... , I mean, they could be done seperately, but that would require more work (more signal amplifiers)... also, the cameras already provide a pretty wide viewing angle!

Rob, you should hook up your reverse camera to the screens. So when you are backing up the person behind you trying to watch the movie can watch himself get hit. hahahaha knock on wood that you don't actually hit someone.
