Ask Joe at Infiniti of Scottsdale how we've affected HIS business - I've seen the impact we've had first-hand. Amazing.......

I tried to get these guys to sell me a QX56... no luck... wanted me to come out from cali to talk about it???

But I did try to support the sponser... This forum has been a great help, and is just a cool place to hang out

Yep - It's like ugly vs. uglier, and I still get us mixed up. :)

p.s. I had just changed all my fluids, transmission filter, swapped a radiator, t-stat and temp sensor... :)

stab your hand when the screwdriver slipped of a hose clamp or skin your knuckles on something sharp and greasy?

If not, you better get your *** back in there! That's no way to work on a car!

You travel up to Indy and Repo and I will take you to the Rathskeller. If you can drink Liter drafts of Spaten Optimater and keep up with Repo and I, you have my respect. I will try not to laugh at the dash board of the Altima next time. Birthday inside joke.

phenryiv1 wrote:My only comment on this whole thread is that a LOT of members acted in a very immature manner on this thread. I will not go into names, btu many of you got way too worked up over this guy. As you probably noticed, the admins on this site have had no trouble maintaining the integrity of this site, nor have they had any difficulties in demonstrating to existing and potential sponsors the benefits of sponsorship and ad space.

For many of you to post on here with personal attacks was just not the best thing for NICO. All of the posts of the numbers regarding hits and users were readily available, and were posted by the proper authorities. Noone else really needed to chime in with the personal insults. It is one thing to correct someone who is clearly posting BS that is derogatory, but it is an entirely different thing to lower yourselves- and this forum- through name-calling.

I wholeheartedly support NICO and its efforts (and I plan to make a financial contribution in the very near future), but I have noticed that several users in this thread just bandwagoned onto the criticism of our detractor. Believe me- I thought that he was an idiot. But many of you showed that you were not much better- at least not in this thread. Some of you were so unbelievable disrespectful to the good name of THIS FORUM that I was almost embarassed to have read your posts. If I was a new user, I might have thought twice abotu sticking around.

I will close by saying that I have had my share of E-rguments on other internet forums, but unless the person had come at me first (and it has happened), I have always done my best to not resort to shameful tactics like name-calling and/or personal insults. What comes to mind when I see stupid internet mudslinging, is an adaptation of the scene in Office Space where the "consultants" implore all of the employees to ask themselves "Is this Good for the Company?" before doing or saying something. Several times in other forums, I have seen the screenshot posted there the banner was changed to read "Is this Good for the Forum?" I woudl respectfully request that before launching into a tyrade with/at NICO's next "detractor" that you ask yourself if the specifics of what you say will benefit or detract from the good name and reputation of this forum.

Sorry for the rant.

Patrick

Wow! I am just amazed and disappointed. As someone obviously in a very small minority, if not one of only a few people (if that), I agree with every word in the quote above.

I am amazed that so many people would resort to such personal insults and name-calling. I was even more amazed at the consistent use of profane language those people used to make their insults. What’s worse, I am disappointed that neither the moderators nor a senior administrator, not even the owner would do anything to stop or even caution against the use of such language in this forum. I kept wondering whether this was a forum among young adults and adults or that of 3rd grade school kids bullying a kid off of the playgrounds.

“I personally couldn't care less whether NICO exaggerated their numbers or not. Honestly, I couldn't care less whether NICO really were a bunch of cheating bastards.”

I like this forum. I get good use out of it. I like the members and administrators. That's all that matters to me. Ignorance is bliss.

I was very saddened to read that entry. Unfortunately, after reading the whole thread I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that many of you would agree with it.

One thing I would like to say is: This is not a dignified, honorable, and respectful way to communicate with a person or people you simply disagree with. Regardless of whether he was wrong or whether he was disrespectful, two wrongs don’t make a right. I couldn’t believe that so many of you would stoop to such levels. With such language, you were not disgreeing with him – you were expressing hate towards him.

I am a fairly new member of this forum and have come to greatly appreciate not only its function but, more importantly, the sense of community among its members and an appreciation for the work and sacrifice the owners and moderators make to keep it going. Precisely because of my appreciation of this forum and desire for it to grow even greater and establish a respectable reputation, I am sharing my disappointment and concerns with you.

“Patrick,

Yes we maybe got a bit carried away but I love the comminutiy sprit that was shown.

LIke Greg said.

Seeing how all these memebrs come to getehr makes it worthwhile, my late night phonecalls to japan to check ona sponsor, the tons of emails with trools. , the moving of posts all thet Moderator work load which we had for years now..

It makes me fell good about it, seeing how Members appreciate our club.”

That’s an entry in this thread from a Senior Administrator. His words tell me that he does not appreciate the level of immaturity that has taken place in this thread. I think a large part of the problem is the example set by the moderators and even the Owner himself. The near-absence of corrective action or warnings against the regular use of profane language has signaled to everyone that it is okay; it is silly that people still feel they have to misspell profane words in order to evade rules that simply do not exist or are not enforced. The fact that so many of you deliberately misspell those words in your regular entries just proves that you know they are inappropriate. Yet without any enforcement by the forum’s moderators, the game continues.

In the words of the Senior Administrator I quoted above, we can have “a community spirit” and support each other without resorting to such coarse, vulgar, insulting, name-calling, and profane language.

The guy’s criticism/questioning/attacks, whatever you want to call them, were solely targeted at AZhitman, so I think it would’ve been best to let him respond to them. This guy’s relatively admirable restraint in the face of the barrage of insults thrown at him actually made him appear to be the more sympathetic party.

Like I said, I really have come to appreciate the sense of community of this forum and the individual relationships I have formed as a result of participating in it. However, I regret to say that my respect for the forum in general has dropped a lot as a result of reading this thread. It’s not just this thread, but a culmination of previous threads I’ve read. Unfortunately this thread was probably the worst I’ve read.

I am a potential advertiser and sponsor of this forum, as each of you are. Every visitor to this forum is. Nonetheless, after reading this thread, I would have second thoughts on whether to associate my business with such a forum and have reservations on whether I want to deal with potential customers who would engage in such language.

I will echo Patrick’s comments with my own additions. I encourage everyone to think “Is this Good for the Forum?” when they make entries to a thread. Also ask yourself,Is this respectful? Is this fair? Are my comments based on facts or emotions? Is my language dignified and honorable?

More importantly, I strongly encourage the moderators and especially the owner to set the best example by actively and respectfully promoting a code of conduct based on the principles embedded in the questions above, and consistently enforcing them.

I hope none of my comments are taken personally. If they are, I apologize. My wish is for this forum to have the best reputation.

Thanks for taking the time to read my comments.

we've got censors, but we've also got the ability to express ourselves and our feelings, big words or profanity, it'll get the message there.

while the comments may have been directed toward Greg, it works similar to are you gonna let somebody take your little brother's lunch money, not saying Greg is capable of keeping his milk money, I'm saying we've got family like loyalty.

Yeah, I was one of the first, I don't take back anything I said either. This guy came on under 2 or 3 names however and continued trolling this. Hell, why he even bothers to check things like that bewilder me, maybe he gets joy in causing inner turmoil in a forum or something...

He's still welcome here however, if he wants to learn or provide valuable information, or just hang out with the cool kids. We'll push down, but we'll be the first to pick you back up too.
