Build threads are always fun. I really enjoy browsing not just NICO, but different S chassis forums to see what people are doing with their rides. There are so many good ideas out there that I like to work off of, and posting some things I have done that I've never seen before might give someone else an idea that they might like

And you can't really hate too much on the new comers. They are just trying to learn, stupid questions or not. And they will. Maybe one day they would even be able to answer one of your questions that no one else could. Just a thought.I also am currently unemployed, so this is where I have been lately when I'm not out trying to get a job. Crappy economy

Ill say this much, Nico may be full of stupid questions and the occasional ricer thread, but I enjoy my time on here so much that I own a Honda now and I still visit Nico. Another thing to take into consideration is that during winter some people are laid off and simply dont have the cash flow to be doing anything to their cars, and the current state of the economy also has some people not spending as much on their cars.

BH nailed it.

By the way, this topic comes up every year, maybe 2x a year, for the past 5 years.

It's funny, it's always the ones who *just* get enough knowledge to get cocky who whine about it.

My response? You must not be taking on enough challenging projects, because there's only a few peeps in this thread who have really tackled some outlandish S-chassis tasks.

im 19, a fulltime student, and i shovel snow, cut grass, and rake leaves for money throughout the year. I'm the person who's on a budget lol

and a note on rust, should i be worried about rust forming in the coolant passages or the internals over the winter with me not driving my car? Im wondering just because i noticed rust on the water pump pulley where the clutch fan used to be..

I am pretty knowledgable about 240's sans ECU tuning ect but I know that my knowledge comes alot from the more braniac guys here on NICO. There have been times when I've had to go to Z*lvia to get info that wasn't covered in-depth enough here.

My big annoyance lately is that people don't seem to have any imagination or ingenuity. All the threads lately deal with..

whats the best part for .....which front end conversion.....which aero kit.....which paint color....

I don't think I have ever come on here asking which part should I get for my car. Why do people need others inputs when modifying their own car.... It's YOUR car @ss wipe.

Also I ALWAYS search before asking simple questions, there is so much info on here and on google, hell google links most of my questions to NICO!

All these people that b*tch about NICO being slow/mean need to get off the can, wipe their hurt butt and move along, this is the internet.

Then the problem that i've seen a couple of times (exageration) is when somebody has a part or kit that somebody else doesn't like...they'll get flamed for it pretty bad, and everyone will join the douchebag that's flaming.

I built my own turbo system from the ground up using subaru turbos... nobody uses that crap.

I enjoy the NICO meets a whole lot. I'm trying to pick a favorite one, but they are all soo good on different levels, each with their own killer story.

Nope, don't worry about it. If it bothers you, start the car up and let it run for a half hour or so. Keep an eye on the temp. You should also get some fresh gas in there. I'm guessing you didn't put a fuel stabilizer in there before stashing her for the winter.

I get a lot of repeatative questions in the newb thread, most of the time I don't mind, but when the same member asks the same question more than once (that has already been answered), I tend to give them a healthy dose of "OPEN UP YOUR EYES AND SCROLL UP TO WHERE YOU ASKED BEFORE".There are a TON of questions in that thread that really aren't newb questions at all, but that is good because variety is the spice of life. I'll update my honda rust thread just to keep some fabrication on the board.

why thank you. it feels good to hear that. i feel like small potatoes when i look at some other build threads (olym, naloo, yellow2000SR, etc) i don;t have a huge budget so i'm pouring my time into it more then anything. sometimes it feels like my progress is really slow cuz i spend FOREVER on one thing until its just how i like it

It's the internet, you have to remember that alot of people don't have basic socialization skills let alone decent typing skills and tend to just jump on the bandwagon. Not everyone is going to like what another person does and vice versa, just take it all with a grain of salt.

I've had people bash on my personal choices.... that front JDM vanity plate is wack, those wheels suck, shave the 3rd brake light on your trunk since your NAVAN wing has one now, Ksports Coilovers suck.

Whatever.... have I changed any of those things... nope.

If you're small potatoes, I'm the dirt.My car is just basically new paint, going KA-T, a few suspension bits, and lowering springs and KYB struts from the previous owner. I really should replace my bushings, then I'll feel somewhat accomplished.

I think that is my favorite build thread. Too bad the OP never came back, even after I emailed him a few times.

make it time based then. you can only get in after you've been a member for a few years or something

Oh yea, that won't stop half of the forum from post whoring...

On top of all the other problems mentioned, people post "cool" "stance" "pbm" "slam it" in like every thread to get there post count up and don't even know what they are talking about. I'm no guru but geez the knowledge and explanations on here are lacking. And on top of that, people argue on here with nothing behind it.

Theres really no thought being put in to posts anymore.

Just because you have over a thousand posts, doesn't mean your not a "n00b." Could also mean you don't have anything better to do and post one word replies in just about every thread.... which everyone does once in a while, but theres some that never really contribute anything.

here's the solution,

we get our moderator... ( for the cigar lounge ) to watch that thread and simply shut sh*t down... post fluffing is now extinct.

there has to be a place on NICO for more experience members to convene and kick it.

AZ if your reading this i'd be the moderator.

It'll be the hottest spot on NICO.
