You can safely run a moderate amount of boost on the stock ECU.
Thtas what I would run. For boost, the stock fuel map is about what we want we just need to tweak timing so it doesnt detonate. You could probably run 6-8lbs on the stock ECU with race gas.
Thats exactly how robert made his experimental boost map. Stock fuel map with a similar timing map to a turbo car.

Elwesso...you have helped me before...what is the difference between a ECU and a ECM? The tech in Austin Infiniti says I need a ECM for my auto '99Q.....is there a problem with reprogramming them once it is installed by me? I am thinking the two are the same.....thanks...Doug

ODB2 can be totally or partially reflashed.......................the equivalent of reloading an entire operating system with a Consult II or III and a very very savvy expert technican.
Any tiny changes must be recompiled so that the hash code is equivalent to oem check digit code.................why aftermarkets skip low volume applications the software engineers to break encryption are costly.
