For "not appropriate for NICO" discussions, I go here:http://www.dodgeintrepid.net/f...?f=25(password is dinet)

That's an example of what NICO would degenerate into without active moderators: racial slurs, p0rn, pictures of STDs, insults, violent political discussions, personal threats, etc.

If I upset the wrong people on NICO, I could be minus a parts provider, valuable advice, or information. If I upset someone with a Dodge, who cares? Plus, some good friends of mine from Washington post there.

Still, I enjoy it there because of all the chaos. Its actually a lot of fun -- but what happens there I hope never happens on NICO.

I understand we like to keep the site clean, but everyone has a personality. We need to let a little bit of that flow, via avatar, sig, whatever. Not everyone is the same.

my avatar is depicting a part of history, the Democratic Convention in Chicago in '68 actually. It's not just some guy giving the finger, but giving the finger to keeping the noise down, watching what you say, and of course.. political correctness.

complaining about "offensive" avatars is like complaining about Mc Donalds' oily fries.

haha indeed. Some of the speed bumps on NICO are much more easily smoothed than the Train Wreck of crap on some forums.

Lets just all get along and not turn into another crappy forum. The main reason I joined Nico is because it is awesome and all the members are very helpful with any questions I needed answers to. Nico is one the best forums around, lets keep it this way and just think about what we're saying and think about the consequences of our actions.

it all comes down to personal responsibility.some ppl do need to realize that some of us members of the opposite sex are actually reading what they're writing.I really hate the idea that we would have to 'police' the fourms. But if someone's being really offensive? ban em' end of problem, and most other things? meh. just need to remember they're being posted by some immature ppl and shrug it off. the immature ppl will go away if they are not encouraged, and the mods work to keep their #'s low. *laughs* like deer population control hunting....

Banning them will most of the time cause them to make another entry and cause more problems. I also do see what you were aiming for in the point of cleaning up and taking out the trash will help in the community cleaner and better.

I was just referring to all the people whos money he took.

Personally, I never had any problem with him.He did help me out alot but his efforts were not unrewared by me.

But when a person did what he did that superceads whatever personal experiences I have with a person/shop.

I guess Im a little bit POed at him stil because I had talked with him to come up and help me get my car back together this past spring and he never showed up. I had a shop space rented and everything.

Classic Adam.

I agree with you Josh. I enjoyed NICO a lot before I even joined...and then I joined (Thanks Jerry) and I enjoy it even more now bc a majority of the people are very nice NICO is an awesome forum, the best there is out there IMO. Its alright to be an occasionaly smart ***, no problem with that, but know your limits bc problems arise when you start to offend people and you are rude with your comments. Remember the saying most of you have probably heard from your elders...If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all

Sometimes we provide this service but often not.

Mostly due to time constraints, we are unpaid volunteers and when you are in the middle of admin work its a lot easier to just move or delete a post that to go to email and write an explanation.

My 2 cents...

THis is Greg's forum. He owns the site. He chooses who his mods are. And if he wants you gone, youre gone! I noticed that when I posted in some political threads, they seemed to get locked quickly. SO I stopped posting on those topics. I havent had a thread locked/deleted since.

Sure you can be a dumbas and posted some stupid stuff. Or you can be genuinely expressing your opinion. Either way, if the mods dont like it, its gone. This is not a democracy; its a dictatorship. Once you learn to accept that, everything will be fine.

You have two choices: comply or get the boot. Frankly, I dont think our mods care which one you do. But thats the only way to keep NICO the great place that it is.
