as far as exhausts go, i snagged a Greddy EVO 2 cat back for $500 about 2 years ago, i hardly imagine that it shot up in price everywhere. i guess you have to shop around.
I'll think about getting a redline. As it is right now, I'll wait until I talk to a local embroidery shop to see if I can get "Spec-V" stitched on somehow.

How did you find an EVO2 catback for $500? I wish I could find that. I just wonder how bad that exhaust is that is selling for less than $200.

The Greddy is pretty good. I personally like a deeper, throatier sound, so BRM does the trick for me. I've also seen Apex-i N1-based custom systems that have turned out well. A lot of people like the Stromung as well.

VMPhil, do you have a clip of your exhaust? If so, post it up here or in the exhaust thread (linked in the Table of Contents) and I'll add it to the "official" list. I don't think we have an example of a Greddy on a Sentra yet.
Yeah, sorry that was misleading. I do have a new muffler, but not a cat-back system... and the muffler sucks anyway. It was put on right before I got my car.

I took a look at the BRM site, and the only systems it shows that they offer fit the '03-'04 Spec-V's, and they don't offer anything for the '02. Also, they're just as expensive as the GReddy Evo2 if I want a resonator.

The 03-04 system fits every SE-R 02-06. The site is being revamped and Greg is currently in the process of finishing up a move, so it's not entirely accurate at the moment. The best way is to call.

Good exhausts aren't cheap, at least not stainless steel ones. I mentioned it based on sound.

What $200 exhaust are you referring to?

The Tsudo N1 exhaust. After doing some research, it sounds raspy and like crap while idling. I hate that.

That'd be because it's an N1 rip off. The real N1 (Apex-i) sounds less raspy. Unfortunately, the QR25 has a raspy note to it with any exhaust. The BRM/VRS/any setup with a Magnaflow muffler and resonator is the only setup I've heard that eliminates most of that character. The Greddy, while higher pitched, does tame some of the rasp as well.

Why wouldn't you just get an all-Magnaflow setup then if you're going to replace the other setups with a Magnaflow muffler?

EDIT: Nevermind. I watched a video of just a Magnaflow system, didn't sound too good. Then again, it could be because of his OBX header. Whatever.

BRM and VRS used Magnaflow mufflers and resonators. I'm not sure what models of mufflers/resonators they are, but they do the job quite nicely.

You'll want 2.5in. The QR likes to breath.

The header will cause more raspiness in any car.

My DC Sports racing header should be fine with a BRM though, right? That's what I'm leaning towards right now. Any way to get a better deal than just ordering it through the website?

All headers have the same side effects, but a good resonator like what you'd be getting cleans up the sound pretty nicely.

Give Greg a call at the number on the site. Were it not for his recent move, I'd say I was surprised he hasn't dropped in on this thread yet. He's especially helpful to his NICO members.

Will do. When is a good time to call?

Oh, and what is Greg's username on this site? Is he AZhitman?

And is there any way to get the BRM exhaust with a dual tip without changing the sound or the performance? For some reason, I love dual-tipped exhausts. I'm still probably going to go for the BRM exhaust no matter what, but dual-tipped would be studly.

He is AZhitman. Their office is in Arizona, so normal business hours for their time zone would probably be fine.

When I got mine there was no dual-tip option, but I think they offer it now. Performance-wise there will be no difference.

Hey guys, just want to make sure, the crank pulley you guys were recommending was the Unorthodox Racing Ultra S Crank Pulley, right? I sure hope so... because I just bought it. I got a pretty good deal.

I didn't see that there was one on the Unorthodox Racing website for 02 Spec-Vs, but I found one on eBay that said it would work on 02-05 Sentra 2.5L engines and 02-05 Altima 2.5L engines. That should work fine for me, right?

I think that's the one. There are accessory pullies as well.

You're in the year range. All of those are QR25DEs just like yours.

Are the accessory pulleys really necessary? If so, how do I get just them now that I've already bought the main one?

I still can't find any pulleys that fit my car on the UR website.

Oh, and the only thing that worries me about the UR pulley is how he had it listed:

Unorthodox Racing Ultra S Under drive Stock Belt Layout Polished Crank Pulley

Nissan Altima 2002-2005 2.5L DOHC AllNissan Sentra 2002-2005 2.5L DOHC All

Part# 021011402

Um... my engine isn't the DOHC. I'm hoping that's what he screwed up, and not which car and liter of engine.

He also put that I'm going to get a 15 HP gain. Yeah... not.
