I don't want to start off on the wrong foot as I just bought an 08 3.5 SL Altima today. Already belong to the Versa forum.

I am retired and do dealer trades for our local Nissan dealer. Over the last 5 or 6 months I have seen at least 7 new 2.5 engines in crates in the service bay. That is a fairly large number for a dealer our size. They are replacement for mostly 07s that are using excessive amounts of oil and they just go ahead and install a new engine in them.

This is one of the reasons I didn't go with the 2.5 even though I love the way it responds. The 3.5 I bought is for my wife and she could care less about all the power it puts out. She has one speed and that is slow.

I might be 67 years old but I still like to put my foot down way too much and that is why I drive the Versa.

The Altima will get a workout in late May or June when we drive the 1900 miles on I-10 to California. In west Texas we now have about 420 miles of a legal posted 80MPH.

In the early 70s I had a 69 Nova with a 307ci-300hp intake off a 327-625carter afb carb-duals in front of the back wheels and it ran consistant 15.3 to 15.5s which was about 383 roadrunner times. Now I have a v6 family sedan that will run in the high 14s with a top end of about 145MPH. Isn't modern technolgy wonderful.

dang guys. i've been on the phone w/two different dealers today, and neither will give me ANYTHING for my Titan. i would have to finance at least 6 grand worth of altima if i took what they're offering for the Titan. i may not get into one as easily as i thought. ...guess we'll see what the end of the month brings.
