Hi all. I will be the future owner of a 93 vert. I just have to wait for my aunt to stop abusing the car. She toasted the transmission, blew up the radiator, and now her A/C compressor seized. So she's about ready to get rid of the car and I will be there to scoop it up. I already have one running project (Supra) but I can't pass up a pretty decent 93. I already plan on pulling the motor and trans when I get another motor/trans set. I've been looking into swapping in an RB25.

Is there anything I may run into by swapping one into a vert that hasn't been outlined in these 2 threads?

I'm used to all things Toyota so I'm looking forward to learning a few new things.

Arrrr, welcome aboard, matey

Those two threads are going to be a real nice basis. I know one or two of us have swapped RBs into the vert, so they can help you greatly. I assume the vert is an auto, so you're also going to have to look into adding a clutch pedal and wiring the top to go down when in neutral (or however it is most commonly wired).

Thank you for the welcomes.

Sounds like the easy part of the swap, lol. Seems pretty straight forward as long as you have the mounts and a few other accessories. How's the wiring? What generally needs to be changed or lengthened?

EDIT - I actually found someone willing to do the wiring after a little bit of searching

Now for a new question...

What's a good place to get a motor set? Meaning longblock, uncut wiring harness, ECU, transmission, etc...

Wiring is going to be a challange.. but not impossible. If you're not experienced with it.. i'd suggest visiting the RB forum stickies and contacting Carl H to have him do it for you. He charges a small amount, but makes it plug and play and will be a huge time and frustration savings for you.

Hit up Madcowvert (also from S. Florida I think) here in the 'vert forum. He's got a RB25 swapped 'vert and will most likely be able to help with the finer points. I can help a bit as well.. but my RB20 is a bit different than the 25 in some areas.

Anyhow.. welcome to the family!

When you do get the car, be sure to post some pics and register the 'vert in our registry.

Thanks!
