You can see some the rear deck material that was drilled out to make the hole. I matched the extender cable to a drill bit and drilled the hole by hand. I held the drill bit in my fingers and spun it on the underside of the rear deck until it had just about poked thru. Then i used the blunt end of the bit to push the rear deck carpet down into the hole. The extender was measured and trimmed and then installed.

I have not vacuumed up the dust from drilling the hole.

I removed the headrest for this pic.

Thanks! I went through a lot of wheel options and lots of photoshop's before I decided on these. I think they complement the curves of the 4th gen M body nicely.

How about a 3 week update/ how do you like the ride? Have you found a good setting?

BTW - Can these coil overs go a bit higher or do you have it at the highest setting?

Well... during the initial balance my tire shop noticed a wobble in both front wheels, one signifigantly worse then the other. The rears spun straight. I took a video and emailed the shop in So Cal that I ordered them from. They called me back an hour later, which was cool since they had been closed for the day for a while already. He vowed to work eith MRR and me to get it resolved regardless what it takes. We agreed to let me drive on them and see if it was noticable. I drove on them for a week and there was definatly a vibration at 65+ mph. Called the salesman at the shop back and he sent me two brand new wheels to swap out and shipping labels for the defective ones. They are at my house awaiting install when I have time. Great customer service.

So theres that. As far as the ride I started with it set to 15, half way between full hard and full soft. Was a little rough. I turned it down to 5 above full soft and its much better for me. I still want to raise the car up about half an inch to eliminate some rubbing of the front mud flaps on driveways and speed bumps and to keep the tire from hitting the top of the wheel well.

The BC's can definitly go higher, and lower.

Great feedback. Thank you. It is nice to know people stand by their product / service.

I am growing impatient. Looks like I have 5 more weeks to wait for the air option. I was pondering going with BC's instead. I have them on my m45, never got them to feel right. I can't get to the rear shock adjustment(didn't install the extender). Sounds like a suitable setting can be found with them.

Now to search to see who may have BC's in stock...

Replacement front wheels are on. Soooooo much smoother. I definitely underestimated how much of the rough ride at all speeds was being caused by the wheels. I am loving it much more now.

I got mine from Circuit Motorsports. With them being considered custom since I got the Swift spring upgrade they still only took 8 days from payment to delivery, and that's coming from Florida to Cali. Then they spent 6 months on my workshop shelf waiting for me to install them.

Did you stay with a 10K front and 8K rear for the Swift Springs or did you go with a 12K Front?

I got 10k/8k. I would not go up to 12K, it will be too hard. If anything you can go down to 8k/8k for a softer ride. There is another member here (i think) that is running is running 8k all the way around and says its real smooth.

Thanks.

I read somewhere that 12K was a better option due to the weight of the V8. 10K / 8K seems like a good starting point.

Wait, I read it from your post! :lolling:

I got the 12K / 8K. Looking forward to the finished product today. Fingers crossed on ride quality.
