The stink of it is Motegi will no doubt be aware that there are very few cars that take a RWD low offset 4x4.5" bolt pattern wheel. :(

A more common fitment is a medium to low offset in 5x4.5 bolt pattern that will fit a wider variety of cars, or more specifically, the Ford Mustang. 300zx, 350z, Infiniti J/G/Q/M/FX also use this specific pattern, so I'm thinking the most obvious pattern that will be made available will be the 5 lug.

If Motegi could make only 1000 sets and be able to put them to market, they'd lose their arse on profits(since no real money is made in the custom wheel world) but they'd also gain a tremendous following with this specific 240sx market, that just so happens to be flat out booming right now!! This decision would have to be made, not from looking at the numbers, but by challending themselves to be a major part of the trend we currently see. What a risk!!

Here's to hoping that Motegi has the working capital to swing a small order for something as rare as the 4x4.5 pattern in low offset with big fat lip!! :crossing fingers..

Thanx everyone for the good feed back. Yes, Motegi made up a few sets for our drift car, we thought you might like to see the wheels and see that MOTEGI is going to be making some good offsets.

As of right now, we are not making these wheels. These where made only for the drift car because currently Motegi has no offsets for us to run with. Once the new wheels finally get made we will switch to those wheels. Belive me, Motegi is going to be coming out with some Sick wheels for the RWD market. And YES ALL OF THE WHEEL DESIGNS WILL COME IN 5 AND 4 LUG!!!! We are looking into making the sizes avalible are in 16's, 17's, and 18's.

But if we keep getting a positive responce like this maybe we will get Motegi to see if they can make these wheels for the puplic. But as of right now there are no plans on making these wheels. These were a one of a kind run for the Mckinney/Motegi Drift car.

I am working with Motegi to make and design wheels right now. I currently talk to them once every other day and I also meet with them all the time. I have a meeting with them next week. If you guys every have any ideas or wants let me know.

We are currently have the 18x10 +30 and 18x9 +12 on the rear and will be getting 17x9 +25 for the front. What you see on the Drift car now is the 18x 10 on the rear and the 18x9 on the front.

I hope we can get some more positive responces so that I can show Motegi when I go and see them next week. We will be at the Formula D event next month in Texas, stop by and see the wheels in person or just say hi. We will be in the event with the new car. Hope we don't hit anything witht he new wheels.

Thanx for all of your help guys,

you know, i am an eternal pessimist today, and i dont see these wheels coming out for a long time.I used to have faith that companies would make stuff for a particular market like ours, and this "no plans" deal is just the continuation of the bad mojo.

You KA fellas, how long did it take to get a decent turbo kit out on the market? and good suspension parts? only just recently have we seen this stuff in the US. Well the same for these wheels. thanks but my hopes have been dashed too many times to beg.

Sorry but its my opinion.

Motegi needs to call Ryan White at Les Schwab Tire Center, Prineville main office purchasing dept, so we can buy ten thousand of these.

This is the exact wheel style and sizing our customers are screaming for!!

wow wtf?!?! Those are the rims i see at Pep Boys!!!! But damt, those look too nice! Hmmmm it's gonna be hard for people who know their rims to buy Motegi just because they're sold at Pep Boys. I'm not ragging on the rims, but I dunno, doesn't it feel weird buying rims from pepboys?

Those are not the same as what you see at Pep Boys.

Many wheels look similar.

People who "know their rims" know that wheel manufacturers sell wheels to retail companies for a profit. What is the difference between Pep Boys carrying a Motegi wheel, or Discount Tire selling them? The wheel remains the same.

That's like saying people won't use Mobil1, because people saw it in a Pep Boys ad and even though people have no idea if it's good oil or bad, people will knock it because a discount auto parts & service chain sells it. Backwards thinking at best.

There is NO way they are PepBoy! I can assure you will won't see them anywhere in America. Go to Motegi's catalog, and try to find anything even remotely close and post it.....

As I've said, we have 1 of 3 sets ever created for our car.

I would suggest to go to MR2/FC/FD/Supra boards as well to see if anyone of them would be interested also since they carry similiar sizes.

Nice wheels though...

those rims look good! I think for starters, if motegi made wheels with the correct offsets for our cars on their CURRENT line of wheels, their sales would jump. i like the slightly "dished" appearance of rims with low offsets like on this r34

They look very nice.. a nice dish to the spokes would look even better.

It'd be a big boom to their credibility if they built some forged units too.

I have doubt's about the quality, as I've seen several different motegi wheels crack and/or bend on potholes. Potholes that should NOT have done that to those wheels. Hopefully these will be of a better quality?

I asked about these wheels long before this thread even got started. I certainly like them and would buy them...if the price is right.

I agree with every about finding good wheels with the correct offsets. If motegi or other companies would simply make the offsets that we need, their sales would increase. I've seen several Motegi wheels that I liked, but can't use because they're the wrong offset. :(

And for these particular rims, why do you have to have 1000 people who want them before they get made? Obviously 3 have already been made so how hard is it to simply make more? I honestly don't know, so please enlighten me. I do understand that the price goes down with the number of people who buy them. Any company is concerned about making money...but you should be able to at least special order them for a premium.

I want to see in the order of how I like the face coloring:

BLACK BLACK BLACK!!!!GOLD GOLDBronzeGunmetalsilver

I would like offsets in 5mm increments, +5,10, 15, 20, etc. That woud be nice, but 10mm increments would work.

16x7,8,917x8,9,10 maybe 8.5,9.5,10.518x8.5,9.5,10.5 and for the P-I-M-P's... 11.5all with awesome offsets available. I use 17x9 +15 currently, and there is room for at least another 10mm spacer in there, and that doesn't take into account people with wide/over fenders/flares.

don't make crappy offsets at all. crappy as in 17/18 x7 +43 or something equally lame. FWD cars have a million different motegi wheels, make some only for RWD cars. and they've gotta be able to stand up to drifting. if you are trying to make your name known to drifters, one way to make your name look real bad real quick is if the wheels start breaking for no real reason (like not hitting stuff).
