You're not crazy if you wear a helmet and ride it safely. Nice Bike. :bigthumb:

2 wheels > 4 wheels. Sometimes less is more.

Wear a helmet, ride safe, and take a rider training course.

Just be smart when riding. It will be one of the most fun purchases you'll even make. Even after many years of riding I still smile whenever I get on my bike.

I have ridden a few R6's looks like a older one but nice and clean nonetheless. I prefer the fuel injected ones but i have ridden both injected and carbed and loved both o them.

Handle awesome and have a lot of power. I rode a R6 on track once and it was a really fast bike. The thing just falls over and transitions so nicely from side to side.

I really would of bought a 600 instead of my 1k, but the new 1k's are really closing the gap on weight and handling.

Matter of fact I was racing a R6 at the strip last week and he was running 10.8 on really bad launches. That as a stock bike with a slip on. Good trade if you ask me.

A few things i would do to really enjoy the bike.
Get good tires. Pirelli or Michelin or Dunlop the rest is trash

I like having a pipe but not a loud one. I suggest a pipe and a power commander you can download maps for your setup no need for a dyno. Most companies have baffles for the pipe if you want to keep it quiet.

Get a stabilizer, it is worth every penny. Get a Scotts or GPR. I prefer GPR. Tank slappers are scary. The new stabilizers come in nice anodized colors too.

Get some sliders, swingarm spools and stands so you can do the work yourself.

Also you like taking long trips look into a Corbin seat. I have a Corbin on my CBR and i love it.

Be careful, wear gear and do wheelies they are fun.

thanks guys, already have good boots, jacket, gloves, helmet; I already took a motorcycle safety course, and 65 still seems crazy fast...so ill be taking it slow.

rc1honda, its an 04, fuel injected, didnt want to deal with tuning carbs. Has some kind of slip on, looks like a factory muffler off of a newer bike, but it sounds great (dont have a lot to base it off of, unfortunately). Thanks for the suggestions, ill look into all those things.
