And honestly I would sell the hatch for 40 - 60 bucks depending on the condition. If it doesn't have a crusty sponge spoiler with rust underneath then you're good

You have a LOT to read about.

Don't cheap out. Get coilovers.

SEARCH! I know people say that a lot, but seriously you could have answered 100% of your questions by googling them, you will learn a lot more as well. ie: what are coilovers. search classifieds for s13 hatch and see how much they go for, etc.

Just do some minor things to it if anything. You're young, and should spend money on other things... like school or saving to move out. Or perhaps do some maintaining on the car since it has 250,000 miles on it and you have no idea what coilovers are, less yet how to rebuild an aging engine.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything. It's just gonna be a rude awakening if something does happen to your motor. It's high milage.... and it's not cool if it's on the side of the road.

Other than that, clean car. Please keep it that way.

Don't cut the springs, that looks uber tacky to those that know what to look for (although every single honda owner will give you 'mad props' for it)

To reiterate, you should have searched before asking all of these questions, because i guarantee you are not the first 240 noob out there, and all that have come before you have asked the same exact things and gotten the most appropriate answers.

Wish I could see the pictures, but NMCI is teh gheyzors

And IMO you should not do anything mechanical to the S13 right now.Right now, you should learn about your car. Learn its history, learn how it works, and most importantly, take the time to figure out the little querks about your S13 that are different from others, because that will ultimately give you the upper hand when it comes to tuning it later.

Clean car dood. Welcome to NICO.

Do the basics first. I/H/E <- Intake, Header, Exhaust. Do you're general maintenance first tho, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, oil change. Stuff like that. Don't be afraid to get hands on with the 240. Since you have another car you can take your time with it when you work on it.

Welcome to Nico & the 240 club. I'm very surprised at how well kept your 240 is after 250k miles, very impressive.Start off by reading this thread zerothread/183490and do some wiki research on your car. You can learn a lot if you take the time to read.

Also take the time to read through other people's build threads. You can learn a lot by seeing how other people work on these cars, what they do, steps they take etc. When you see people talking about parts you don't know about, google images is your friend.

Yes, searching requires more effort than posting your questions on a forum and waiting for people to answer you - but you'll be ridiculed less and learn more if you take initiative and make proper use of the brilliant search function.

Enjoy your stay
