Hi all, just got a versa a few weeks ago. i lost my honda fit in a freak accident, and honda didn't want to finance me again, so i got the next best thing, the versa. a toss up with the yaris sedan though. My name is ritzbury, i totally live in phoenix. you all should show some pics on here of what you've done to your versa's. still haven't seen a modded versa... ever. but my fit was pretty decked out aftermarket style. cool stuff. i want to see what you guys have done so far.... and anyone know how to get to the headlight circuit? so i can get my LED cupholder lights i put in to come on without a switch? independent and stuff. and does the S model have the plugs for fog lights? or do i wire them from "scratch"?

The answers to the fog lights and the pictures of modded versas are both on the NissanVersa.org portal page. there's a gallery section for member ride pictures, and there a tutorials section that will tell you how to wire fogs in the S.

there was already a writeup done for how to do the LED cupholder lights... zerothread?id=273641

Neither - they're LED's. At least a couple of folks have tried to change them out, but apparently with no success...

The Factory Service Manual available at http://www.nissanversa.org/generalfaq.shtml has decent wiring diagrams.

when i had my fit in palm springs, we used to do bi-weekly meets, go to in-n-out, hang for a few hours, then do a full on canyon run. we started to get more and more fits to come, eventually getting groups of 20, some coming from north LA just to get double doubles and drive up a long windy road. cool stuff. that would be fun to do out here, but aint no canyons, and too many cops

hey all, did a few mods this weekend. painted the hubcaps a semi flat black, and did the same to the chrome strip on the trunk, and a few lighting mods. still waiting for the trunk peice to dry, but here's some pictures of the caps, let me know what you guys think! i'll post more tonight when it's dark enough to take pics of the LED's

i lost the fit due to the honda dealership cashing the downpayment check early. i told them court, and they said that was fine. but i told them the contract was voided as it was with that, so they agreed with that and i let honda take it back and cancel the contract.

i used krylon, semi flat blak. came out good. they look like steelies, bt it's better than that silver crap. i'm re-doing the "versa" and "s" badges once i get the auto tape to put them back on. i hate silver on cars. i hate it i hate it i hate it

Translation: The Honda dealership probably found someone they could gouge for the Fit you were buying more than they could you, and found a loophole to get it back to resell.

Many of us looked at the Fit early on. Many of us chose not to get it for the same reason: Dealers would not budge off of their $4000 or so MSRP markups.

I heard lots of dealerships do those kind of things. I was lucky to pay the sticker price

We are talking about the sedan. It's the strip above the license plate area. I'd rather it match the paint.

looks good. when i have time, i was going to do all the badges too. to match. it would be cool to do the strip to match, but i'm a fan of 2 tone. and chrome is so ugly too.

and yes, the dealership used me as a resale for sure. i hate them

i took it off. if you have the sedan... there are two plastic peices that hold it in and a bolt in the middle. just take the carpet retaining clips off, and you'll see 2 white clips, give them a pinch and a push, and the black bolt in the middle, just take that off, and your golden. all you need to do is unplug the trunk open button, and remove the strip. after that you can take the botton off from the strip. easy stuff. it's going to take time and a lot of dental floss to take off all the letters from "V E R S A" and "S" and paint, and put them back on. let me know how it goes!

and here's a pic of my lighting mod i did this weekend, did the cupholder lights, and also the 2 cupholders behing the front seats on the console :D

haha, i'd do that! you need bulbs and resistors, and lots of speaker wire.

and i'm not known for amazing craftsmanship, but i did the lighting pretty flush though, i have it powered with an on/off switch instead of wired to the headlights. but hey, if you can get to that circuit, we'll do it up lol. i'm usually off thursdays and sundays if your for real about that hahaha.

>edit<:

i got my bulbs at radio shack out in denver, and had them lying around from when i took them out of the fit. i went to fry's to check out their LED's, and they didn't have the pack of blue's, only sold individually. they had packs of red, yellow and green i think. i like blue though. i had green in the fit, just didn't look as cool. i know there is a radio shack by me, on 17th av and betheny home. they should be able to match the bulb to the resistor for you, if not, i think for the 5mm LED's by radio shack go with a 230 resisor or something like that.
