New to the versa world... so, hi!

Hey RitzburyGD3,

How did you install cupholders on the console between the front seats? Did you buy the whole console or just add cupholders?I am a smoker (sorry ) and there is no way to use an ashtray in the front cupholders.

smoking in a V that should be a sin... i used to smoke in mine but i quit smoking... the dealership gave me a ash tray with mine... u didnt get one ?

my new v....: haha, if you don't know what resistors are we might have a problem lol. i used 5 mm blue LED's from radio shack (radio shack brand) with i think a 230 resistor. we'll need shrink wrap (unless you don't wanna shrink wrap it)... and i dunno if you have a soldering iron or not, but i got one, but need a new tip for it lol. if you want we can get materials together before, or i can give you a list and hope to god you get it all right haha. but yeah, is there a radio shack close to your place in suprise? or we could find a parking lot over by my place that will work or some stuff. wherever you want to do it is cool. over here would work.... since i don't wanna pay for gas to suprise.... i'll PM you my phone number fo sho

but i don't smoke in cars though, not mine, not anyones. it's a respect thing i guess. i'm a good british boy lol

You must be. I thought that when I took the '07 out for a test drive the console had a couple of cup holders (and was bigger) but the '08 is smallwe with a flat top.

Hahaha yeah im not too knowledgeable in all the electrical crap even though I work for APS And right now im with my parents helping them out at 43rd and bell and there is a radio shack less than a mile from here. And depending on the price ill buy the new tip too, theres an Ace Hardware next to the radio shack lol.

LED bulbs, however many you want, with matching resistors. tell radio shack to match them up for you in their book, or online at the store or some.... crap.

speaker wire

electrical tape.

soldering metal crap that you melt

shrink wrap

some LED bulb fasteners

and go to autozona, and get a relay switch, whichever one tickles your fancy, but i think i can wire it in the glove box to come on with the headlights.

and let's see, of course, a couple of 40's haha. i guess i'll pick those up. i think that's it actually. want to do anything else to it? what all are we lighting up in there?

Aight bro i went to radio shack and they need to know:

Amps and/or Volts of the LED BulbsOhms of the resistorsAnd the type of tip needed for the soldering iron

did you get anything? if you already got the LED's, i can look it up. i think there i can find a conversion chart and figure it out. that's dumb they f-ing didn't look it up for you. they are not putting in 100% effort lol actually get the 5mm radio shack brand LED's, and pick up a pack of the 230 resistors. that's what i have in my setup. figuring it out involves a lot of algebra, or a multimeter (which i don't have or know how to use)

haha, i was going to suggest getting lights in bulk, like a 15 or 20 pack, and we could get a deal and be able to do both of ours. i want to do the VIP lighting in the V. i think i have a power source to the dome light i can use. bah. too bad fry's didn't have the large pack in blue LED's.

for my console, i used 4 led's, pretty much one for each cupholder. but the main 2 cupholders, throwing in one or 2 more wouldn't be a bad idea. light the whole area instead of the cupholder. i like 2 in mine, not quite as blinding at night. but just get however many you want to put in and i can do it fo sho. we gettin that fo sho

hell yeah for the VIP lighting, i'm down to do it, but keep in mind i haven't figured out how to do it in the versa. it would just look dumb with a switch. my theory on the wire i can use has about a 75% chance of working. if you want to do it, you might need 8 more LED's, or at least 4 more. if i'm up by a radio shack before we do it, i'll see if they have any LED's in bulk, so i can finish mine. need to save money since my budget is tight from just moving here. word.

we'll be doing cupholder lights and attempting the VIP lighting in my new v's V haha. might do my VIP lights if i get some money to spend on the project. i dunno when he wants to do it, but i'm off tomorrow (sunday) and i don't have any plans. i def need gas money. my paycheck has been a few days late. gosh.

oh, and reyes, you are looking for red bulbs? lucky for you, red is a cheaper priced bulb, and fry's also sells them in packs instead of individually. i would like to do red, but i'm set on blue, plus i already started. i did green for someone, but i made him start drinking mtn dew when he drives at night lol. i think he switched them to blue now. red would go well with the interior guages, but i'll be switching that to blue, or at least the cd player controls.... if i get the dang lights to come back on.

good show with the lights. i'll be taking a look at the dome light, i might do the LED dome light mod like i was saying. but i want to wire it to the switch for the dome, so i can have it turned off if i want to. having the dome light on when you have VIP lighting kind of spoils the purpose of having the VIP lighting :P. i'm going to give it a shot. not afraid to put in another switch up there if i have to :P

in my taurus, i tinted the dome light blue, and i didn't like it. it's hard to find stuff at night with only blue lighting. i'm considering putting a few blue bulbs with the dome light, and have them wired seperately, so i could have blue or white coming from the dome. my chioce. i might postpone doing the LED dome light do to AZ witholding taxes taking 150$ from my damn paycheck. screw arizona taxes!
