Hi EveryoneMy name is Alex, I have just relocated to NJ from Israel.Back home I have a 1995 eurospec S14 Silvia. After many thoughts about which car to by in the USA, I eventually ended with a 1998 240SX (auto)My car back home was an auto too and I planned to do the 5 sp swap but by the time I got all the parts I relocated here, so parts are still waiting there.Anyway, I was thinking about doing an SR20 + 5 sp swap to my 240 here.My question is how leagal is this swap? How do you pass the car inspection?Do you get trouble from cops because of it?I did not see anywhere in the car papers the engine model or transmission type...I know that everyone is doing it, just want ot make sure.thanks,Alex

try searching a bit before you post, not to be mean but new people ask this question all the time so it gets old.

No its not legal nor will it ever be, maybe when the car is 25 years old or somethin depending on the state you live in.
