Above is a photo of my 1973 Datsun 610: The Project Begins, showing it from body word to primer stage. Thanks for your patience.
I was finally able to post the above photo collage when I did not enter any text. Now I will try doing both. I left the 610 uncovered in the back yard for many years. Now that I am retired I have been working on it. Yes, there was a fair amount of body panel reshaping so that body filler thickness was minimal.
To paint the car (see photos below) I used catalyzed primer, followed by single-stage Nason paint (DuPont, I think) in the original 019 yellow. For the final finish work I used 2000, 2500, 3000 and 5000 abrasives followed by the three-part Perfect-It system of polishes by 3M. I have not yet used the 3M hand glaze and Synwax. I just finished undercoating three of the wheel wells with 3M 08883. If anyone thinks that this stuff doesn’t stick, just get some little specks on your skin!
Should I put my future posts and photos in a specific Datsun section of NICO?
