Hello fellow Z32 lovers. I have been a gear head my whole life, yet the Z32 as an engineer, is quite an intimidating vehicle. So, you NICO Z32 Gods seemed like the most seasoned of the interwebs. That being said I will explain why the vehicle is so intimidating.. besides the mechanical nightmare it is, I purchased my 1993 Z32 Twin Turbo from an old lady. It still had the dealership tires on it. The odometer read 31,295 miles. It is absolutely flawless inside and out. The leather seats dont even have creases in them. Theres no gunk build up under the hood, it runs like new. and i paid 10k..! SO of coarse i have fallen madly in love with this car and Im trying to to right by it. I want around 450 whp. Ive seen alot of Zs out there running rich from a bad tune or sounding like junk for not spending enough on it. So i came here to get the proper guidence. The reason I havent joined until now is because i feel that im kinda the "unloyal" forum-er. im quite busy so forgive me if i have periods of silence. Im not ignoring! Anywho I have a stage 2 Z1 clutch i installed, 18" TSW 2 piece wheels wrapped in NT555s, Just orderd a Greddy PROFEC boost controller, and besides the JL soundsystem i put in, thats basically it. any advice at all on where to venture next would be great. not sure what tune to trust, they all seem quite generic and im not too crazy about the fuel mapping ive seen from other tunned Z's.. Thank you! :mike

Welcome aboard!

A few thoughts - Go gradual. Most people who have a number in mind aren't necessarily aware of what 450hp in a Z32 feels like (nor are they ready to use even HALF of it).

Most people also get butthurt when they hear that, but we're not here to blow smoke up anyone's butt. :)

Sounds like you got a real collectible there, so take care of the necessities first. Even in pristine condition, it's going to have issues (mostly from LACK of miles), so get it in 100% perfect factory-fresh condition first.

Adding power gradually ensures that you don't wind up with a pile of expensive parts that don't play nice together. Been there, done that, more times than I care to admit.

Beyond that, enjoy being the curator of such a rare beast, and let the experts here guide you through the fun that is Z ownership!

Welcome, sounds like a great find!
+1 to all of the above, post some pics ASAP so we can all enjoy her and give you advise, and to go slow and get ALL of the "piddly" seeming maintenance stuff done first...there WILL be flaws to fix for sure especially if it's a '93 with the early injectors like mine.
Look forward to seeing her!

Wow. Congrats! And I know how it feels to buy a pretty much "new" 300. My personal suggestion is to take it really slow on the upgrades. Not many people can claim a fully stock 30,000 mile z32. Enjoy that feeling for a while before you go and change that. Something I wishi would've done when I got my stock 29,000 mile z.

So far the only problems I have had are the clutch slipping so i put the Z1 stage 2 in it, which im starting to think was a mistake. I put around 1k miles of break in on it and it makes that "squeek" going into 3rd.. only sometimes but still, they should have increased the fingers on the pressure plate. the pedal feels identical to factory soft. And my boost gauge reads something different everytime i register boost. its wrong on the vacume side and boost side and sometimes decides to work for me. And as far as the power goes ive raced 600hp and up racecars sense i was 12 so power is nothing new, especially coming from a Turbo LS backround! I think ive come to accept thefact that the 300zx will never reach my power crave while retaining driveability and a bank account lol. I just wish I had 1 more gear! T56 ratios in this thing on mid boost would be a monster!

MMMMMM. CRP (cherry red pearl). My fav. You, for sure, have a beautiful Z there. Have fun, they're the most fun wallet vacuum's that I've driven.

Like the others have said, Maintenance first then traction and handling upgrades, lastly power. I wouldn't wanna be doing 160 on stock struts and springs. I'm not a huge fan of the staged clutches, in Nashville we have a clutch shop that builds clutches to order to our specs. Most of the diesel guys use em and alot of the import guys that go turbo or supercharged use em. I think they're called tn speed clutch or something like that. I'm in canada for awhile so no real way to check on that.
