wait a second

instead of going through all this trouble to set things right for the brake swap

can't i just

buy big 26mm rotors

z32 calipers

braided break lines

z32 MC ?

or will lines not fit ?

then you wouldnt have to mess with the e break and what not

free bump.

Also curious of the things I would need to buy if I were looking to upgrade my S14 brakes (on my S13 convertible) to more performance based Z32 brakes.

It's already converted to 5 lug with working brakes, but I want z32 brakes, preferrably brembo and 30mm calipers if I can find out what all I would need for that.

The 240 has the e-brake built into the caliper. The Z does not.

what do you mean by "trouble"?

You need to research more. You can do just front calipers, rotors and aftermarket brake lines... or you can do rear brakes too, BMC, brake booster, Z ebrake, etc etc. There are so many different ways to do the swap, all with varying levels of effectiveness and balance.

Re-phrase your question.

Along the lines of this, i noticed that the website with the brake swap is no longer working (or at least it isn't for me.) Does anyone have pictures of how they connected the r33 cables to the z32 drums? I believe i have the r33's, as i have two cables coming back from the front, and they are much longer than needed. Is there a bracket or something that they connect to?

As in, get z32 30mm 4 pots up front, get new pads and rotors, get conversion lines, keep the rear stock, and get a z31 master cylinder

Yes, this setup will work. Many people have this setup. There are braided break lines for 240s with z32 calipers. You can get them from project Nissan. For the rear brakes, some people go with this STK kit.http://phase2motorsports.store....html

emo_tactical9,What do you have? s13 or s14? r33 lines for s14 and z32 2 seater or 2+2 lines for s13. Look at posi's swap thread for e-brake installation.zerothread?id=277821

That setup makes me laugh. Not only does it look terrible, but its nearly as expensive as getting rear Z brakes to work. Honestly, I don't know why more people don't go Z brakes on all 4 corners. If you are already doing 5 lug, its not that much more work to run Z ebrakes and Z uprights and all that.

Ok man, here's the deal.

I'm going to assume that you have an S14, otherwise trying the R33 cables would be pretty stupid. If you do have an S14, and they don't fit right, well then they don't fit right. The problem is when people say things are "straight bolt on" they aren't always. The most important thing is that you secure the brackets closest to the part of the ebrake cables that attaches to the T bar. The brackets farther down that are supposed to attach to the subframe are not neccesary. You can just let them dangle. This will create a bit more of a spongy feel with the ebrake handle, but the ebrake will still be plenty strong. This is how my car is set up, although I had to make custom brackets, whereas your front brackets will probably bolt right up.

As for the extra length, just make sure you get the other end attached to your ebrake drums, and if you are worried about the cable moving around too much, ziptie it to the subframe. done and done.
