I have a 95 base model 240sx. It was a real piece of work when I got it but I got a good deal even with all the problems. So the previous owner put 4 14 inch steelies on it with hubcaps and 3 195 and 1 185 tires. All 4 tires were balding and sounded horrible so I to see if I could get some new rims and tires for cheaper then the price of tires for the current steelies. I found a pair of 4 lug 17X7 5 spoke silver rims with 215ZR17 tires for 150 and bought them right away. After sticking them on I realized that I now have a huge wheel gap in the top even with the low profile tires on the rims. it is atleast 2-2.5 inches (look up "Donk" in google image search lol). So I figure I need to get a set of lowering springs and new struts as I am running a stock suspension. My question is, is there anything else I can do to eliminate some of the wheel gap? Any help would be awesome as this is my first 240.

Pics to come later

Thanks

Whatever you do, don't get Eibach Sportlines (they'll blow your shocks in no time) and you'll be fine.

what tire size are you using, you didn't note the sidewall. That could also make a difference...

low pro?

Low pro = abreviated low profile as in low profile tires.

Tires on the car currently are 215/45/ZR17

lol

yeah, well lowering springs and spacers (if needed) can bring the wheel closer to the fenders without gaps.

but... all comes with work and it all depends on what look your trying to accomplish.

I just want to get my car not feeling like a boat (now with the big tires). And eliminate the wheel gap.

take a look at this link to get an idea on what specs you need...zerothread/265282

understand that most of the rides in that link have coilovers.
