I may be leaving the family a bit, but I'm not leaving NICO...

2011 Kia Optima EX w/ Premium Package
I picked this up this past weekend and drove it 800 miles back to Brooklyn after visiting the family.

So how about a review? 800 miles is a decent enough amount to comment on the appointments, the ride, power and fuel economy. Come on, what would Jesda do?

Is the EX turbo or N/A?

Either way, it looks WAY better than the Sonata.

N/A
the dealer dropped the car 4k off sticker for the N/A making the turbo alot more expensive.

Black Cherry. It looks alot like Barolo Red for Merc and Barbara Red for BMW. Its not as dark as the Black Cherry Nissan makes.

I love the styling on the new Kia's. The interior looks pretty nice too.

so far there is one detail that i think speaks volumes about the car. on the leather seat, you cant really tell in the pics ive posted, but the french stitching is done in white, while the seats are a tan color. very slight, but really really cool to see in person.

also, its got a panoramic glass roof with dual power sunshades, heated/aircon front seats, heated rear seats, and heated steering wheel.

simply put, for what i pay, nothing comes close. not even on the used market.

EDIT: you can see it in on the pic of the passenger seat.

The Optima is one helluva car. I sat in one at the auto show and couldn't believe it. I thought about buying one for my wife, but wound up with an Avalanche instead (don't ask). Nice purchase!

WHAT?! It has all of those goodies? Shoot, that beats the hell out of anything in its segment.

I Don't like it 0.0 :couch
It in my opinion looks over styled, and is made to be something it isn't. I find the toyota celica to be prettier and I think that car is ugly. Image

Are the seats as comfy as they look? Because they look amazing.

Weird, I hate that generation Celica because it has too many lumps.

I like the new Kia because it has simpler lines, they look great in person.

nice looking car , great colour

I think the number 1 designer guy at Audi actually now works at Hyundai/Kia as of a few years ago. I see the Audi look in some of the Hyundai / Kia line.

Make sure to give us updates on any reliability issues with the car in the coming months/years. I'm interested in the Kia/Hyundai brand for my next auto purchase.

I just can't help but think that the front emblem would look better if it was placed in the center of the grille.

WOW. That is a FANTASTIC looking interior. Not many cars anymore have the center stack facing the driver. I am baffled at how nice of cars Hyundai/Kia is rolling out. If I was in the market for a new car right now, Kia would be at the top of my list. I like almost all of their new lineup.

Did I just say that?

Their lineup at SEMA was unreal.

The Sportage they had that was all modded was awesome, and the Koup is WAY more impressive than anything on the market for the money.

The new Hyundai lineup is solid as well. They're not playing. S*** be serious.

Looks a helluva lot nicer than anything Ford or GM has to offer at that price range.
