well bad news....the z has to be put on hold untill i figure out a new plan. this adds about another 1000 to my build cost since nothing on my bottom end can be reused except the pan itself.....

everything on the motor but this cyl and the timing has been in great shape but what can you do...

At this point you are really better off just buying a known good engine out or a wrecked Z or J30

Ditto...and my sympathies as this is sad to see.
New/replacement block time minimum, maybe to ease the work load a new short block...ouch, so sorry man...

So I'm debating getting rid of the z got an offer of a running single cam 5 speed 240sx pretty much all stock and minor rust. Just don't know if I'm willing to give up on the project. So i guess its something I must think on..

Got tired of getting filthy every time I work on the car. So I'm starting to degrease it as I go. Soon I'll start one the shaving of unused brackets and filling of unused holes.

And for anyone wondering what the plates bolted on your frame rails are they are subframe bolts

Nice!
It's a subtle change, but I really like mine since I shaved and smoothed them as well and I like the matte color you chose.

thanks man im hoping all of this pays off when it comes together. planning on all of the engine to be flat or bare aluminum and gloss black the bay.

more progress and a set of cheap unknown wheels (all i know is that the center caps had ultralite wrote on them)

been a couple weks now but some things have been done more cleaning and painting parts and my first parts order is done...

XTD clutch and flywheel will do for now. Will do an actual review once its in for a bit. 95% of what i seen reviews were my friend had one, on a honda, improper break in, ect... stage 4 tt clutch on an NA maybe overkill but ill be able to put it to use later on.

also will do a review on jp-genuine ebay headers

not much has been done.....cleaned up a few more parts. need to get some 5mm spacers but the rear fits nicely.
ive almost collected nearly everything on the list to bring her to life.
still need:
timing kit
rear main
pan seals
possibly driveshaft(have to check when i get the diff bushings in)
to get the engine shipped.

but here's some of the progress cant wait to align all the panels and use my headlight adjusters that finally work

More progress has been made. Been on the road a few days now. Needs a few minor tweaks but overall i cant complain after a major rework. Going to try and get it cleaned up and get together a finishing parts list this weekend. Heres a few pics will be getting more decent ones soon.

If you dont know what your doing, take it to a profesionall or educate yourself before you even think to slap a turbo on it.

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=c ... um%20boost
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^first off read a copy of Corkey Bell's Maximum boost^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

then read through the online manual and see if you want to go through with the process.

N/A engines are higher compression and have weaker wrist pins that wont handle much boost dependably, in other words defiantly find out what you have before proceeding as well.

I think it is also ran through the security system. I had an issue with this a while ago and ended up rewiring the starter on a whole separate relay, never had an issue after that.

I ended up replacing the starter flywheel and wiring as well. not sure which it was but i didn't want the issue to ever come about again.

after putting about 100 or so miles on the car i discovered it also needs

u-joints ( looking at a one piece drive shaft)
front tension rods
driver door hinges (unless someone sells the bushings)
Passenger a-pillar(mine crumbled when it fell from shutting the door)

also need to look into deeper rooted causes of hesitation when giving it any gas under 1200rpms.

already checked off timing at 15 degrees fully warmed up, TPS, CAS, MAF, new NGK PFR6B-11 plugs, 12-13.5ohm injectors, new coil packs, new coolant temp sensor/ connector, PTU factory clipped and ziptied together, and cleaned connectors. no CEL light and it gave code 55 the last few times i checked.

Been slowly working on the car, since ive decided to park it until i can order a new drive shaft. got one tail light clear lense modifed with led ribbons....some will hate... but im very happy with the change. also added another plenum pull to the list of to dos, as the vtc selinoids are leaking a slight amount of oil...
also working on deleting the spoiler and wipper
BTW: tape is not staying on the car just there to keep out moisture

Also note my safety skills.... thats a nice bolder :naughty:

im going to hold on to the spoiler until im sure on the spoiless life. Im still a bit torn and i get a 50/50 response on which is better.

The exhaust with headers and knock off flowmasters is simply put LOUD when you rev past 3k. but it sounds amazing and for cheap $68 ebay headers i cant complain even though the "ceramic" paint has pretty much fallen off completely. my wife often says it sounds like its screaming not just making a rumble or the typical fart can sound. the drive to the exhaust shop will never be forgotten though....dont put open headers on a z....your brain and ears will thank you lol

Haha I have what appears to be resonators back on mine and at highway speeds 3k it's all annoying when trying to talk to someone. But then again that's the racecar life lol. I found these. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ISBP27 ... ref=plSrch

if you get those headers, don't expect the finish on them to last.
