As you may have guessed by my recent threads and questions, I'm in the market for a complete suspentsion overhaul and would LOVE to use all SPL parts, just need to know how things stack up.
Mechanically they are superior to HE's. Tein HE's have a non-inverted multitube design that causes foaming of the oil which reduces the effect the hydraulic system has, meaning with alot of movement the dampening can actually fade.
Ours have an inverted monotube design that resist's side loads more efficiently and does not have a foaming issue. The inverted monotube design also reduces the possibility of internal binding. This makes them similar in function to JIC FLT-A2's, and with the same spring rates as the HE's (8 kgf/mm / 6 kgf/mm) which is a good all around spring rate.
Our coilovers are 15 way adjustable in dampening which is not as much as the D2's or the Tein's but 15 way adjustable is adequate adjustment.
Our coilovers have correct high and low speed valving packages for the spring rate, unlike the D2's. This ensures longer shock life and better performance.
As far as rebuilding goes, there is no rebuilding. We simply mail you 4 new shocks and you swap over the hardware, spring, and mounts. The price for that is $550 shipped, for comparison Tein USA wants $150 per shock to rebuild them and you then have to take off your suspension and ship it to them (at your cost). With our method you have no down time.
Price wise we are alot cheaper than FLT-A2's, a fair amount cheaper than HE's, and a little more expensive than D2s. What we lack in price against the D2's we make up with function.
