i got a 1995 Infiniti J30T with 141k..well when the car is warm the car has lack of power from like idle to 3k rpm..was told it could be the knock sensor, so i relocated it,but it didnt fix the problem, but i did use a used knocksensor from another infiniti, so is there anything else i can try to find out what the problem is? ok i was told the timing belt should be replaced every 80k miles, well my car has 141k, is there away to find out if mine had been replaced before.? ok now i got my car about a month ago..the car set in a impound lot for awhile then in a tow lot for like 4 months then it was sold to me..when i first got the car i didn't ever notice any smoke coming out of the exhaust, but now i notice on cold mornings i see a little light blue smoke come out of the exhaust but only last for a few sec what could be caused by?

"There could be a sticker under the hood with the date & mileage."

It will be on the front edge of the hood.

Also the belts are good for 105 K Miles from 94 up.(Kevlar Belts)

Start with checking to see if you have any ECM codes. Depending on when your 95 were built, you may have OBDII & the codes can be checked at a local parts place. If you have an OBDI you can check the ECM your self. This will let you know what problems your having. This how to locate the ECM for the OBDI: zerothread?id=270520

This is what to do after you have the ECM removed for the OBDI: zerothread/217489

Your car is new to you. Do some routine maintenance: Clean the MAF unit. Change fuel filter, air filter, oil & filter & coolant. Check your transmission fluid, brake fluid, belts & brake pads.

You can go to an Infiniti dealer with your VIN & have the maintenance log printed from when the car was serviced by any dealer. There could be a sticker under the hood with the date & mileage.

This is usually caused by oil getting past the valve seals & it will lay on top of the piston(s) when the car sits. When the car starts, the blue smoke you see is that oil being brunt off. After you change the oil add 8 oz Bardrol No Smoke. That should help.

i looked everywhere in the motor bay, didnt find any type of a sticker with a date or mileage for the timing belt. everything eles tho i have checked or replaced or cleaned. the auto part store said they didnt have the right code reader for my car. but now my belts on my car are squeaking when starting up when the car is cold, was told belt dressing could fix this?

The engine is not shot. It's your valve seals. Look at my 1st reply to you in this thread. When the engine gets warm, the seals will swell & work properly. That is why you don't see the smoke after the engine is warm. After you park the car for the evening, the seals will cool down & shrink some & allow the oil to seep past them. This happens to older engines all the time. It will cause the engine to use oil. Not much, unless the seals are really bad. If there is no smoke on start up after the engine is warm, you are probably good. If you change your oil every 3000 miles, check it at each 1000 miles after the change. See how much the oil level has dropped.

must of missed your first post.. but like a month or so ago i never noticed it ever smoking..but now thats its getting colder out i notice the smoke..maybe the slick 50 will fix this
