I can haz silvia?

Seriously... If I can have one of these for between $16,000 and $18,000, I will sell the hell outta my Altima Coupe, buy a Sentra, and buy one of these to keep in my garage. This is my favorite Nissan ever. I'm fairly ignorant to the availability and legality, if any, of one of these in the states. Any experts in the house?

As far as legality, read these links:
And availability... it takes a lot of searching to find one of these that is already here. There are two for sale on modifiedcartrader.com, but seeing as this very car is listed on there for $28,000 and supposedly in California; I wouldn't even bother. There is/was also a gray one listed for sale in the classifieds section on another forum, but the seller couldn't be contacted.

I didn't feel like starting a new thread, but I've got some updates.

My brother and I made it out to the Homestead Miami Speedway for their weekly Test-n-Tune a couple weeks ago. We were going to go to the autocross on the following day, but the weather was crap.

(Flickr gallery here)

Image

Here are our times for the run pictured:
My run: R/T: 0.373, E/T: 10.488, 69.23 MPH
My brother's run: R/T: 0.638, E/T: 9.857, 74.45 MPH

That was my first time at the drag strip, and I was hoping for sub-11 second ET's at 65+ mph, so I was happy; I just wish my car had the 6-speed... the CVT isn't much fun. :frown:
My brother was having trouble getting into third gear. At the time, my brother had only been driving the car for about a week, and shifting in the "wrong" direction takes some getting used to.

Hopefully we can work on this next weekend...
Hawk brake pads have been ordered, and the rotor hats will be getting a paint job to get rid of some of the rust
Fortune Auto coilovers are on the way, should be here in the coming week
New double DIN Pioneer (I think) headunit will be going in to replace the stock radio; new speakers may be coming soon too

We'll be doing a custom exhaust set up with two side-by side HKS canisters
The car will see dyno tuning in the near future; so that's grounds for another trip to the drag strip :yesnod

That should hold my brother over until it's time to start building the drivetrain (SR is staying).

No, lol. My Altima has a CVT, the Silvia (my brother's car) is a 6 speed.

I'm seeing a LOT of S15's in the US all of a sudden (on boards, not in person).

It's not like they suddenly got "more legal". I guess DOT hasn't been crushing too many of them, so people are undeterred. I hope it stays that way.

Got some updates for you folks...

First, Hashiriya, I hope it stays that way too... :ohno:

Anyway, we got the Fortune Auto coilovers installed this weekend. We also painted the brake calipers green and installed new brake pads and spark plugs.

Here's how she sat before:

And after:
Image

The front was way too high, so it came down a couple of inches lol.

Here are some more pics:
Image

The car had Nismo shocks & springs...
Image

Image

...but now it has Fortune Auto coilovers. Just so happens that they are green! Which is perfect, because this car is going to have some green accents. (Like the calipers, valve cover etc.)
Image

Test fitting the wheel to get an idea of where the suspension was
Image

The rear mount was a bit of a PITA to work on... One ratchet extension was too long, the other wasn't long enough.
Image

Getting the brakes ready for paint and setting up our ghetto spray booth. We were planning on painting the valve cover too, but it got pretty late and decided to leave it for another day.
Image

Alignment coming soon, and hopefully we'll be able to get the car on a dyno for some tuning. We're working on some other sponsorships, so there will be some major progress within a few months if all goes well.
That's all for now! Thanks to the Fortune Auto folks for making this happen. :bigthumb:

Cool. I would love an S15. If I ever did have one, I would keep it 100% bone stock down to the air filter. The same goes for a 98 5speed 240.

Your lucky you can play with it too. That wouldn't happen if it was mine lol. Please, oh please dont destroy this car modifying it. I hate to see it change but I wish you good luck on the project. And whatever you and your brother do, dont wreck it. JINX!!

Quick question though, is it legal? What if you get pulled over? You can sell parts for good money ex. engine, rims, etc

Hey everyone!

It's been a long time since I've updated this thread, but here are some updates. Since the last update, the car has been completely disassembled and is almost completely put back together. After endless delays at the body shop and lots of time spent putting everything back together, the car should be finished by week's end.

Here are some teaser shots. Enjoy!

Hey Razi, if your eyes are allergic to green, you may want to look away now...

My brother and I headed out to the NOPI Flawless Expo last weekend, below are some pics of the car with all of the bodywork finished...

Very clean, very straight. I really like the exterior color, the wheels and the aero.

I like how It turned out. The mirrors are a unique touch and i'm glad to see the green is toned down on the exterior. Your brother has a nice ride!

Looks awesome, not really digging the fenders though. It makes me think it was a former s14.

We should have a video shoot one day since you guys are so close.
