New member with a 200sx need some help

I though I posted it already last night but i couldn't find it today so I am posting it again. I even searched it, so werid.

I am a newbie to nissans, but i recently got a 85 200sx for free, it just doesn't stay on.

I turn the key and it turns over the rpms go to 2k then slowly goes down till it shuts off, when i press the gas it just shuts it off instantly.

I pulled the codes and I got the idle switch and the AC code 31.

I am not sure what the idle switch is but I do see the TPS should I replace it and see if that works, its like $60.00

any inputs?

That year 200sx has a CA motor. The 200sx for this thread is more on the lines of the 95-97 body style sentra.
