MORE PICS ON PAGE 2!!

CAR IS ALSO NOW FOR SALE, IS LOCATED IN AUSTRALIA THOUGH. Email [email protected] if interested for more details

Wasabi Guys,

I was looking for some info of Roll hoops for my car and stumbled across this forum, Most impressed i have to say.

I have an S13 convertible, its not a 240sx though, its the JDM Autech version So it didnt come with the 180sx lights.

Made in december 1988, came originally with a CA and Auto, both went bang so i went the old faithful RB series.

i then blew up the RB20 box, and put a 25 box in, now i wanna go faster and have just bought a 25 to put in, however still gotta get a few things organised before putting it in.

Anyways, on with the pics! heh, bare in mind this is a work in progress, Paint is on the way and always more go fast mods :P

Welcome! Good to have a JDM vert owner on board. You're the second or third one on here, I believe. The other guys doesn't post often, so hopefully you'll stick around. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Outstanding!!!

I love your car in so many ways. First.. it's great to see another RB20 'vert on the forums. They are few and far between.

Second.. it's awesome to have another JDM version silvia 'vert. They are SOO rare in the entire world.. let alone on our forum. You're the third member we've had with a JDM 'vert. First was a guy in Japan, Second is Allen in Canada (who has two) and now you. Those guys never seem to post anymore.. so it would be great if you could share more about your car.

Can you take lots of photo's of the autech version of the droptop mechanics? We are all in love with the way the JDM top cover works. I'd love to see some angles of the lifts, the mechanics for making the boot cover come up and down, etc...

Any video clips of the RB20 sound.. It's the best ever! I can't remember the last time I turned on the radio in my car.. I just love the engine note so much!!!

Hey.. if you are going to toss any RB20 parts in the bin after you put the 25 in there.. let me know.. I might be interested in a couple things.. even though shipping would be very expensive.

Video of the top working would be awesome!

As for your car's rarity.. 603

Velvet blue S13 (430)Green two-tone Lime S13 (50)Warm two-tone white S13 (70)Cranberry red S13 (40)Dark, green (10)

The other 3 were made to order for Nissan.

Here's a thread from a while back with some great info on the JDM gems that you have. zerothread?id=109152

You can see from that thread that we've had a couple members check in, but neither stayed active for too long. Probably got too frustrated with the difficulty in finding parts and info on such a rare car.

I just remembered that here's two other guys with JDM verts in Australia. They both have have S15 front ends on them. One's light silver w/ black top and has Volk GT-7s and the other is dark gray with a dark red top and frosted tail lights. Both of them posted here a while back but never posted often either.

By any chance would you happen to know them? Or at least see what I'm talking about? Just wondering.

i know of the 2 convertibles your talking bout, the creamy yellow one that had an article on it on some car site (EDIT: found it, Autospeed - http://www.autospeed.com.au/cm...ticle). and the other one is a guy down in South Australia, i spoke to him briefly thru nissansilvia.com but he lives 3 states away from me, so no chance of meeting him. As cool as photo shoot of both cars would be.

i hafta say i prefer the 180 front more than the s15 front, gives it a nice euro style look.

I tried to use your Register but i dont think it caters for me hehe

That's usually the first thing I look at. I also wish we had those on our verts. *sigh

That way we all wouldn't be hunting for boots like a hungry pack of wolves.

Awesome looking car, can't wait to see the finished projuct.

Now - Thread Jack - I don't actually like the way the 240sx boot looks to be honest. I'm still waiting for a canvas or marine-type black faux leather to be designed. It sounds like BiXLL might be onto something...

- Back to thread -

Love the top mechanism and like others here am jealous.

Welcome.

Over here 1via convertibles are somewhat unique due to how rare the convertibles are over here. we never got the 240 convertible in aus, so the odd time you see a convertible (very seldom :P), they never have a 180 front. i believe im the only one in Brisbane with a 1via convertible, and i think it looks alot more stylish than the silvia front, although without a kit it looks kinda weird. Mine came originally with the CA style front, with the rectangalur parkers and boxey kinda front bar, different to the ones on you guys verts. it made the car look like an ugly ford capri hehe.

Cow, i was kinda joking, i was actually seriously looking at selling the car bout a month ago as is now (20 and multi-coloured) for 15k but noone was interested, so ive gone and bought a 25 and made plans to make it super awesome hehe. Once its finish ill be looking at selling it again, however its RHD, so it wouldnt be much use to you guys over there anyways.

The CA Park lights? nah sorry, they disappeared a long time ago with the old front bar, however they are reasonably easy to get over here, you should be able to get them from any import wrecker though.
