We are looking into making a new intake system for the coupes, nothing super fancy, short ram like all the others, but for a price the poses greater value for your dollar compared to others out now. The Idea of making them in Real Carbon Fiber is also a possibility.

Just looking for your feedback right now, what do you think ?

aluminum would likely be <$150 and CF would be likely in the $180-$190 range

nothing has been made yet, but most short rams for these cars tend to make 4-8hp avg depending on engine

If it's CF then I'm all in!!!Now, would you be doing it for the 2.5 or 3.5, or (hopefully) both?If you need a prototyper for the 2.5, PICK ME!!!!!!!!

Would the CF be for purely aesthetic reasons? If so I'd rather just go for the cheaper aluminum, unless the price gap is small and the CF yields better gains.

Come to think of it, would CF be able to withstand the heat coming off the throttle body? I thought I just recently read somewhere that extreme heat degrades CF...

...either way, I'd love to prototype it!

Also, what type of filter would you be using with it? I've heard that the AEM Dryflow is the best...expensive, but the best.

yes, carbon fiber expands when heated and can not handle high heat.

in a NA application actually even many boosted applications, there are completely fine. the heat is not high enough to cause any changes to it carbons make up. Carbon fiber intakes and engine covers are common place among many higher end cars.

The biggest differences in carbon are:-asthetics-sound ( does not produce the pingy metallic sound) actually sounds pretty cool, I had one on my old 1.8T VW

a cf air box will push the price up HUGE. $350 min. I doubt many people would spend the money on a full CF AEM style setup

i dont mean carbon fiber air box just a plastic one like aem's with a carbon fiber or regular short ram. You could probably just sell alot of the air boxes by them selves for people who allready have a short ram. Dont forget the AEM is going for $430 so ime sure alot of people would pay 350 for a cf box and intake

An air box would definitely be a feature I'd be looking for. Been waiting for the K&N one for that.

I don't care what price you end up at, you release a CF intake, I'm buying it. I just hope the end product would have a nice finish to it, I've seen all kinds of ratty CF stuff

well i've been waiting on the K&N for that air box but if its CF then with an air box i'm in and $350 isn't that bad but for $300 would be great. and i know alot of ppl are looking for the air box since there is no room for a CIA.

Hell...it sounds like you might just have a market selling the airboxes by themselves!

(...but I'd still buy a CF intake!!!)
