Are the ka24de short shifters compatible with the sr20det?

I bought this shifter through the NICO offer, too. Excellent. My only complaint? Well, it's not the rattling, because I love the turbine-like vibrations... let's me know how solid of a shifter this is. I do not like how stiff neutral feels. Any side-to-side movement requires a little too much torque. I still love it, though. Great upgrade.

And the answer to your question is YES!

The reason why your shifter was sloppy and loose is because of the white plastic bushing on the ball at the bottom of the shifter. You could've gone to a nissan dealer, had them lookup your car and find that little piece. I bought one last weekend for my SR for $1.63. Firmed the shifter up like new.

I hope the B&M's shorter shifts was worth the $195.00... Personally, if I can have a firm stock shifter, i'm content.

Yea my nylon bushing was worn out, but what you are getting is a shorter throw shifter. The unit is built a lot better then the stock and it is a lot firmer. I really think it is a good purchase. You can use it on an SR as well.

mines a 89 it also starts red at 6 and goes solid at 6.5... ive done things on accident, in the windstar i kept it in 2nd till i hit rev limiter racing(7g), shifted to 3rd and got a big powerband from the revlimiter bouncing in 2nd, natuaraly i tried this in the 240 going 1st to 2nd, didnt work, however if i shift at 5.75ish k i get 2nd chirp all the time
