I love when they think they can buy all the "DRIFTING JDM Parts" and think they can drift. From an experienced autocross friend of mine says, "the best money toward your car is money toward driving school where you can learn that it isnt the car's fault that it is understeering, its the lack of seat time to prevent this." Something like that.

i hate you guys. and kamin especially you.... you guys always have to be right... and you usually are, haha but still be a little flexible with people's opinions. i like grip driving but prefer drifting. im still new to drifting but the only reason i go out and practice is to have fun. im not trying to go pro, im not trying to be on tv, and im not trying to impress anyone. i found a sport and i love it and i learn from my mistakes due to logical reasoning and it works for me. so dont be such a know it all, all the time.. thats all. i just wanted to express that you come off a little as an as$. the sport/art is evolving to a ****tier side, but i dont think theres much we can do. its gonna be the way it is and it sucks.

i rethought it, and i guess my last comment was more directed at kamin. i liked pretty much everything you wrote in this thread, slappy. plus, what i wrote wasnt meant to be hateful. it was more like telling kamin to chill a little. and considering ive been following 240s since i was 14 and drifting since i was 15, i think i understand the sport enough to appreciate it like any veteran, its people who tell me that where i practice and that the tires i use arent good enough who piss me off. i do this for fun and to get better and controlling my car. i read more than i post because i am still learning and have the respect of people who know more than me, but this drift section of the forum bothers me

you can hate me all you want im not here to make friends, and nothing i said was 100% directed at you other than the "no, grip racing is awesome"

so you are the one that needs to chill out. drifting is fun, and it always will be. but its not faster than grip.

and i dont like the drift forum on this board either. too many posers.

zerothread/248202

thats the reason im a d!ck in this forum.

I know what you mean man , they need to move along to the next "big thing".

starkos14 - I wasnt being hateful either. Its just that some pe , wait ...ALOT of people dont realize without Grip there would be no DRIFT. There is actually idiots out there with sigs the say "Drift > Grip". Grip racing its what started it all and will always be the root of all motorsports no matter what. Even in drifting , you need grip. Most noobs dont realize this , but even when your sideways , you have /need forward momentum to keep your drift alive. And how to do you get this forward momentum ? , Grip. And i dont mean 20 mph parking lot drifts , i mean 4th gear 85 mph + drifts. If you have no grip at that speed you will crash. What Kamin means i think is that you should learn to push the limits of your car and LEARN your car by grip driving before you jump into anything like drifting. That way you will know the limits of your car and know the "feeling" of what your car does at those limits , and i cant preach that enough.

I see this new "uninformed" geration of drifters to be shallow. What i mean by that is that they lack respect for motorsports as a whole. I have a deep respect & knowledge of motorsports because i've been following it since i was a kid (in 32 now) and still to this day i read and learn more and more about it. I love drifting , dont get me wrong , its what i do for fun as well , but its more of a personal thing for me because its my only way of invovling myself in some type of motorsport , even if its the "alternative". I always dreamed of being some type of race car driver but im old now and i know that will never happen , so drifting an auto x is all i can do to fill that huge void in my life.

Wow, its amazing to see you guys calling others out for having a "wrong" attitude when you guys have the same jock, meat-head mentality as the retarted, hick muscle-car kids. If all you care about is being the fastest, then why are you even posting on the drift forum? Grip racing is intense, and its amazing, but drifting is about having fun and control, real drifters know its not the fastest way around a corner. If we are talking about people ruining drifting, in my opinion, its you guys.... Chill out, and just drive you car.

=( we don't have a track on Oahu,Hawaii...Hawaii Raceway Park got shut down due to financial problems.i LOVE drifting. I mean absolutely love it. frankly i support all the motorsports. But drifting to me is just beautiful, and amazing to watch. I've never drifted a single corner, or even owned a car for that matter so please don't hate on me. Is it wrong to be an aspiring "drifter"?

in majority of the series u barely see any drivers supporting themselves anymore. And they at least have some sponsors that are reasonable. I give respect to grassroot drivers that rip it, and a driver that rips it in general. I say just stfu and drift, and don't care wat ppl think. But on the other hand i saw that vid with chris cook, and with nick hogan. Wat they say is just straight up cuz they got money to crash vipers. But i think they put their money where their mouth is after one flipped and one totaled Thats just really how the sport is getting and were gonna have those type of people just to get the scene bigger. U just gotta remember who started from nothing and became something....

ya i just read this im a broke college student had my 240 for about a year and even before i got it all i wanted was a superbadass grip car. I didnt know what drifting was when i bought my car. no lie. and so i go as fast as i can and im always timing my self and im a better drifter than any of my friends. none of us are great but i think grip driving really does teach you evrything. like how to move the weight of the car around to keep your car from understeering . and oh ya drift that stuffs fun as hell!

oh man thanks alot for those words of encouragement it makes me feel happy thats theirs people like u that want to help beginners like me and other people get into the whole sport of drifting

i barely turned 18 last month and i live in california witch is the worst place to live if u wanna get to the car/drift scene. and theirs nobody that shares the same love i have for the sport. so im currently working and saving up money to buy a 240sx and taking inconsideration the tips u gave on thread on how to learn how to drift. hopefully u can also put on ur thread were to get good parts for cheap and so on.

if u could give me more tips please email them to me ok gladdly appreciated
