It does, the OP is just on something that makes him silly. The other sticker means "old driver", not "experienced". As in old like might fall asleep at the wheel kinda, yeah.

Old people shouldn't drive

Young people should go through more difficult tests/procedures before getting their licence (like Germany).

The "JDM" craze is retarted. Our economy is weak enough, stop spending rediculous money for shift knobs and stickers from Japan-land

PWNED Yea your right, but I am only making 20k a year. I am not spending all of it to buy an American car that is going to last me 3-4 years. If I was making 100k a year and I wanted a beater, I would buy American cars.

But in terms of products that I can afford easily I buy American.I try to do my part.

I also don't buy Walmart, I pay 1.5 times more at a Mom & Pop stores

Hell, no performance driving event makes you a better driver on the street. If you're staying within the posted speeds, you're never going fast enough to take advantage of your supposed skills. Also, you've got little idea of the laws of a roadway and how to interact with others cars.

Sorry, kids, but your chubby for drifting doesn't mean you're as skilled as say, a CDL holder.
Ok, I see that people are complete idiots.

#1. How the hell can anyone say that drving skills on the track dont convert to the street...Now I'm not saying treat the street like a race track, I'm saying if a bad accident happens in front of you or, u have to avoid something substantial in the street and the car gets loose. Someone that has never drifted may slam the wall, guardrail, etc... Someone that has been to the track will feel more comfortable behind the wheel, etc...If anyone on here has ever taken a racing class, U would know that. I have taken skip barber f1 and mazdaspeed classes to better my driving, and the instructor specifically stated that alot of the skills they teach you there will transfer to safe street driving, and no I'm not rich it cost me alot.

#2.
Dattebayo wrote:I agree wholeheartedly that it's stupid. But as for the inexperienced driver tag, I would think it's because all the stupid drifters now have an excuse to drive all stupid like they do.

Either that, or it really is completely true that only new drivers are into drifting, since the rest of us have wizened up and taken it out of the streets.
All I was trying to say is that I am more experienced than a brand new driver going out there and drifting for his first time. I made that point....

here:
blacksrjdm wrote:Well, I've been driving since 1999, started drifting in 2004. So drifting isnt nessesarily a new driver thing, its a more experienced driver thing. And honestly if you learn to drift, then you should be a better driver on the street as long as your not drifting on the streets, of course.

here:
blacksrjdm wrote:
More experienced then a new driver...and seeing that I started driving in 1999 and it is now 2008, then I have had 9 years. I think I'm pretty well experienced now...but, to each his own.

And yes, 4-5 year experience is pretty well experienced having been driving on the track since I was 16.
I dont need to explain myself anymore... People are getting themselves all worked up over this...

I'm sure everyone will have to disagree with me...These are my opinions...Those are yours...I suppose well have to agree to disagree.

I originally started this to vent, yesterday I saw a 20 something with one of the elderly driver markers and decided to vent on here. Sorry I did now, because it seems that no matter what u type there is always going to be opposing opinions. Thats life. And my life is a lil better cause this is where I come to vent...not to start arguements?? That I have to worry about all night with socks on my head???
Dattebayo wrote:
NO IT DOESN'T!

I need you to come back and tell us WTF you are talking about! Now I have to post more bla to find out what the hell you smoked before posting. Now I am wearing my socks on my head! Help!
And the best stuff in the world wouldnt have made me stay up to figure out what I meant...get a life my dude.

Not to mention that this thread has now been Jacked by jackasses. I proved my original point that these markers have no purpose in the US. About the only excuse for having one is that u just got your license.

And your right numbnuts, if they brought them here then u would see alot of them in the trash.

It is explained very clearly what they both mean in my original post.

one means young in their first year, and the other means older driver and they both mean beware...

They do not mean that these drivers are experienced, they are warning tags for safer drivers.

Now don't get all pissy because you made a post that doesn't make sense and we are picking it apart.

Chances are if there is more than one person who says something is off, then it is true and you are in denial. Either that or there is a conspiracy, and you know how conspiracy nuts are crazy...

Then u tell me where I'm wrong and where averyone else is telling me I'm wrong and I'll rest my case. So far, my original post is the strong truth and thats what I am standing by... U tell me where people are telling me that things are off and I'll rest my case... I make perfect sense and you seem to be the only one disputing it. Therefore buy a marker and put it on your p.o.s. and you can be right. Not to mention that these markers have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH DRIFTING.

U sir brought drifting into it and DRIFTING has nothing to do with it.

When have you seen one on a car owned by someone who does not drift?

Also, quit trying. You fail.

Where do u see me mentioning drifting before you did. I didnt. The whole reason why I started this is because I saw a 20 somethin driving a honda with a elderly marker on his car. I never once stated that I have seen them on drift cars, in fact I havent seen them on drift cars. U mentioned drifting and I suppose you are trying to insult me with your comments.

blacksrjdm wrote:Ok, can someone please explain to me why every meet I go to I see more and more of these yellow and green v shaped and orange and yellow teardropped shaped stickers and markers in their windows.

For one...I doubt that most of you with the yellow and green markers (shoshinsha or wakaba markers) are all within your first year of driving.

For two...I doubt that any of you with the orange and yellow (momiji marker) are over the age of 70 and are considered elderly.

For three...These markers dont apply in the US and they arent making anyone look any better. Both marks are designed to warn other drivers in Japan that the marked driver is not very skilled, either due to inexperience or old age.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kareha_mar ... insha_mark

And I know that wikipedia isnt the end all, be all about some things, but this time they are dead on. Researched for a while just to figure out what they are.
U show me where I mentioned drifting. u stop trying, u have been failing from the start.

Dude, WTF is wrong with you? Will you please re-read the entire thread? At least TRY to get an understanding what is going on here?

WHY are you getting upset over things that aren't even relevant?

Hate to do this to ya, but you fail.

90% of these I see on EG hatches, faux ITR's, and other wrong-wheel drive chumpmobiles.

To whoever brought drifting into this thread, please go outside and hit yourself in the head with a heavy object and pretend it's from me.

BTW, I have one of these placards... TMS sent it to me, and it's in the window of my 63 Datsun for lulz.

I didnt appreciate this post and thats what started it. The markers have nothing to do with drifting and my avatar is of me drifting so that was a personal attack. And not all drifters are brand new drivers is the point I was making. The above quote here makes no sense, and I am not replying to your posts any longer.

You don't get it. I was posting a JOKE that perhaps drifters would put it on their car so they can get away with driving badly.

And then you got all upset. WTF is wrong with you?

There was never any personal attack and you are CRAZY. FULL ON NUTZ if you think that I was attacking you.

I RULE, U FAIL, I ENJOY ANYWAY!

Please... you can't take a joke so I make fun of u further. SO what? Go on believing that your "drift skills" are gonna help you drive better. Go on and have your lack of humor. Continue on with your silly thread. You don't have to worry about me being in it anymore! I t doesn't matter that others said you were silly as well! Obviously, it's me who is at fault, so I say FAREWELL!
