Oh CakeDaddy, please please tell this little lady how you got those pretty colours on your display. You know us women love pretty colours. Pretty please with sugar on top. I promise not to tell anyone (giggle).

I tried to disassemble my cluster a while back for a few reasons and found that the needles need to come off, i tried ever so slightly to take them off but they are so fragile that I gave up, not wanting to break them and buy a new cluster

A couple of years ago, the display changed colors on its own in my M but went back to normal after I shut it off the car and restarted it. The temps were in the negatives and I attributed it to the extreme temperatures. Since then it has only happened one other time (winter as well) and I have no idea what really casued it. I'm pretty sure that the colors were the same though as in the pictures. I'd be interested to see if many other people have had this happen to them and to find out what caused it.

I took my car in for an oil change a few months ago and I made mention to one of the techs off the record that my display is hard to read when the sun is facing the windshield. He made note of it, smiled and said, “I will look at it; I know what to do.” An hour or so later my car is ready and I drive off. I didn’t think twice to look at the display until I was on the high way and that is when I noticed the new color display. I was told if I disconnect the battery or reset the ecu it may possibly change back, but... why bother.

If I have a low tire pressure alarm active, the lower half of my screen turns kind of greenish, fwiw. This will happen only aftert I re-start the car after the alarm first shows..kind of weird.

He said the dealership did it for him.

They have the tools to be able to tweak the colors. A battery reset will put it back to normal.

Exact same scenario with my display. It was a very cold day during the winter. I looked at the display and it was in brilliant colors. When I turned the car off and then restarted the display returned to its yellow color. I have never seen the colorful display again, but would like to know how to get it back.

Sounds to me like it's something configurable, which MIGHT mean you can adjust RGB values for the display to suit your desires. The question is whether it's user configurable or not...

Sounds like it would be in the FSM or in a TSB, then.

42° F ambient is cold, so it is a yankee car.

In my short experience, I have seen these colors come up when there is also an issue with a cold morning. It just so happened that the TPMS system was reading low pressure and this appears to be the trigger for the different colors.

Once the car was restarted (and the day got warmer during my drive), they were back to normal. Once I added air to the low tires, even on cold mornings, I've not seen the TPMS warning or the colors come back.

Perhaps the 2 are related but the characteristic is not documented and not specifically intended to work that way as built Infiniti. Just a line of code somewhere that caused unintended behavior but was still accepted at final approval?

Thanks Cake, you will have many more friends if you come through, lol. I asked a guy in Pensacola that works at the Nissan dealer about it, he told me to bring it up to him and he will see what he can do. If I find out, I will pass the word

corner of 98 and Blue Angel. I'm about to move to MD in 2 months. If anyone needs a set of 22's for the M, I have an extra set. I'm gonna try to take my car to the dealer next week and see if they can figure out how to change the color display. Thats all I need, I have T.V.'s, XM, Ipod connection, navigation w/bluetooth, and a little knock in the trunk. There isnt much more I can do to it.

It looks good I have never been a huge fan of the orange mess inside the M but I really like the car. The new colors really break up the interior monotony pretty well.

I have a few ideas, I will test on the next one I get in. I will report to y'all if it works.

I really don't know if it is a practical DIY though. If there is something easy though (highly doubtful) you guys will be the first to know.
