I tried to hold the info button and turn the volume knob 30 clicks. It gets you into a test screen, but you can not adjust the color from that page.

Hey Cake, you can change your battery without resetting everything. Autozone has the thing you plug into your cig lighter and it keeps your info saved. I would do this before you change your battery, if it isnt too late.

About a year ago, I had to replace my '03 M45 original equipment battery and chose to not get one at the dealership for obvious cost reasons. I went to Sears and bought mine. I knew that they had the "backup" equipment to power into the system so to not lose the settings.

Here is what I found for '03 M45's and might be useful and necessary for later models. Connection through the standard cigarette lighter port in the ashtray would not allow the backup to work. But, using the aux. in the armrest would connect and allow battery removal to hold the settings. Hopefully this is useful for you and others wanting not to lose settings during the changeover.

Holy old thread.

I too am curious what they actually changed. Still have my thoughts but I do not know what exactly is required to get this to work.

I like the different screen colors overall. Though I would have picked a different color than green for the HVAC icons.

Nothing new. I was at the dealer this past October and the guy moved back to Phoenix or Las Vegas... I cant remember any of the other details.

There is no other choice, that is the color of the display from a late model Q. Now what I would like to see is if someone can integrate the newer system from an 06-07 M tech pkg.

That looks like the display from an 02 Q45 w/o Nav. I do not know if the control unit would need to be replaced to implement the color change but it can indeed be done.
