Damn. I guess I'm gonna have to shell out the $$$ for a real n1 dual.

If you want the look of a dual exit just get a muffler with dual exit. Dual pipes is just impeding flow, and that whole second pipe is wasted.

What is the point of dual exhausts like that?

They are unnecessarily bulky, weigh more, hang low, only fit with stock rear bumper, and are surprisingly loud. The authentic N1 duals are the same way.

If people buy them for looks/being different, then I understand, or are there actually any advantages over a regular single-pipe exhaust?

No. No advantages whatsoever. It is an ebay exhaust that doesn't have a 14 inch exit though, that's why i didn't buy a single.

I got mine for 100 shipped brand new last year.

100 dollars wasted.

sommmatt,i totally agree with you on that exhaust... my right pipe would have carbon buildup but my left pipe would stay clean, and cold! crazy... but. it was cheap and at the time, i thought it was a good deal. just not a quality part at all. i'm glad i'm not the only one that had problems with that exhaust...

i mean buying an ebay exhaust is like learning from experience. i would've still bought mine even if 99% of the people told me not to. why? because it sounded "good" on youtube, it was within my budget and it looked good brand new.

once i got it and installed it i knew it was just way too loud. i felt sorry for other cars around me as i was driving it home from exhaust shop. it sounded good just that it was way too loud. if the sound was reduced 50% i would have had nothing bad to say about them but since ebay only comes in 3" and nothing less, i can't say i recommend them on a n/a ka. for the people with boost, sure nothing wrong with getting ebay exhaust, i mean mine fit great and lasted 2 winters w/ no problems so my only complaint was how loud it was and that it looked pretty ricey since it's usually only canister design or dual canisters. after a while i really had wished i bought 2.5" brm with dual tips but that was 3x more than what i paid for mine so oh well...

so to anyone who wants to buy one...they can be good depending on how loud you like your car...or if you have turbo then who cares buy it.
