New cars coming out and are out

I was watching t.v. and there are lots of new cars coming out that have over 200 hp stock. Of course there are some V-6. Most are targeted at the young adult and teen years. Some the cars such as:TiberionRSXMazda 6StratusNeon SRT-4(250hp)Sentra SERI'm sure there is more I just can't think of any.

Yet they are still all front wheel drive and for me they all carry a heavy price tag. I don't know but, for now driving my stock 240sx, I might have to thing again about racing a SRT-4 neon. I will stick with my 240sx. Anybody else.

I would never even try to race an SRT-4, I would get blown away. Specs are amazing for a neon, wouldnt it be embarassing to lose to a FWD neon? Yes

the srt-4 has 215 horse, and 245 ft. lbs. of torque. not 250 horse.not to mention that is at 15psi. lets see what I can think of here

1. s14=8k2. nsport turbo kit @ only 7psi= 4k

raping the s*** out of a srt-4 and still having 8k in the bank, priceless:D

i think everyone gets confused with the numbers for the neon, because of early tests. it is rated at 215 hp and 245 lb-ft of torque but the early versions that magazines, etc. tested had more power. one group did a dyno test and got 223 and 250 at the wheel. production models probably don't have this much power, unless it's like the early model Q45's that had more power than rated up until 94.

Regardless, it is and always still will be just a damn neon! I would take a dang civic over it any day of the week. And the fact that it has so much more power now only means it is gonna break down faster than the regular neons. My girl has a newer one and it breaks down constantly. Can't trust them as far as you can throw them, and being almost 3 thousand pounds, I can't throw them very far!

The SRT-4 may be fast (0-60 in about 5.7 seconds I believe), running at 15psi like someone said earlier.

Sure, it can haul in a straight road, but I heard it sucks a$$ at curves. Front engine, turbo'd, FWD. No thanks.

I think it's just Dodge's attempt to get its rear end into the import scene by releasing a civic/sentra/wrx/lancer killer.

a neon is still a neon and will all ways be a neon i don't give a f^ck how much power it has or can produce the 350z still has a ways to go remember the 300zx had a convertable, n/a, and a turbo no make that twin turbo modle lets don the math ladies and gents the 350=287hpneon=223hpwrx sti=265hplancer evo VII=280hp" " wrc=300hpmazda rx8=250hp

notice how the 350 can beat all but one of the cars on this list only being an n/a and theat car is the wrc car which most likely we can can't get, all in all the 350 will whope on all thier a$$ and when the twin turbo comes out just forget it

like I said I'll keep my 240sx, put a sr20det and still have a **** load of money left over. It might be more reliable? I only paid 1400 for my car. Also, it a rear wheel drive car unlike the neon. You will get of the line better with a rear wheel drive car than a front wheel drive. let them spin their tires off the line.

I test drove the G35, but the coupe wasnt available so it was the sedan. But I cant imagine how the Coupe would accelerate and handle seeing the sedan was AMAZING. About the 350z, anyone drive it or own one on the boards here? Please let me know, I am going to test drive one within next week sometime. Daytona blue is O-So-Pretty.

I have an SR20 powered 240 and I would be willing to sell for the G35 coupe or 350z. Don't say that it's worth going all out for the SR20. But by all means, **** THAT NEON!!! ROFL

just remember that there's a lot of other factors besides horsepower that make a car fast.

Its easy to talk **** about the neon, but if most of you raced it right now, you'd get ****ed. I have to commend dodge for putting another turbo on the market. I wouldn't buy it, but still, I hope it puts pressure on the Japanese manufacturers to come out with something better.

I semi agree with you, its nice that they are putting pressure on them. I find it highly unlogical to state how we would get smashed by the neon. Duh, its a turbo. You can never compare a na motor against forced induction. Like I said above, slap a turbo on a 240 that cost 5 grand and it will decimate that neon.

I have to agree with wing zero on this one.

I have to give props where props is due, 14.2 for 20k is the best bang for the buck Ive seen since the WRX......for a new car.

When they hit the street we will see how reliable they are.

But........ I payed 9k for a used 240.....6k for a swap w' lots of extra goodies=15k of neon kickin, ws6 smokin, mustang whoopin, ss slapin......NISSSAN POWER!!!!!

The best new car on the market available to us in the states would have to be the new mustang svt cobra. Damn dawg, 4.9 0-60mpg, under forteen in the quarter mile. Id like to pick me up one of those, even if it is a ford. Ill prob. get flamed for this, but Im being truthful. The thing can almost hold a g. From what I hear, has great handling too.
